當時尚未為主之名建殿、故民仍在邱壇獻祭、所羅門敬愛主、遵行父大衛之法度、惟獻祭焚香尚在邱壇、

約沙法行其父亞撒之道、不偏離左右、行善於主前、

邑人夙興、見巴力壇已毀、壇旁亞舍拉已斫、第二牛已獻於新建之祭臺上、

爾當毀其壇、碎其柱像、斫其諸亞舍拉、亞舍拉或作木偶以火焚其偶像、爾之待彼當如是、

除頑童於國中、亦除祖父所作之一切偶像、其母母或作祖母瑪迦為亞舍拉作偶像、故貶其太后之位、斫其偶像、焚於汲淪溪濱、所有邱壇、雖尚未廢、然亞撒畢生誠心向主、

是夜主諭之曰、取爾父之牛犢、及七歲之第二牛、毀爾父為巴力所築之壇、斫壇旁之亞舍拉、亞舍拉或作木偶下同

毋跪拜崇事其神、不可效其所為、必盡滅之、悉毀其偶像、

爾曹或告我曰、我儕恃主我之天主、乃希西家曾廢其邱壇與祭臺、命猶大人及耶路撒冷居民曰、但當在耶路撒冷在此祭臺前崇拜、

惟邱壇尚未廢、民仍於邱壇獻祭焚香、○

昔摩西舉蛇於野、人子亦必如是被舉、使凡信之者、免沈淪而得永生、

亞哈斯王命祭司烏利雅曰、朝之火焚祭、夕之素祭、王之火焚祭、素祭、與國民之火焚祭、素祭、皆當焚於大祭臺、酒亦當奠於此祭臺、火焚祭牲及他祭牲之血、悉灑其上、銅祭臺當如何用、我再思之、或作銅祭臺俟我問主時方用

然王自國中除諸亞舍拉、盡心尋求天主、王此事猶可謂善、

復建父希西家所毀之邱壇、為巴力設祭壇、作亞舍拉、崇拜奉事天象、

惟邱壇尚未廢、民仍於邱壇獻祭焚香、

築邱壇使天主不悅、拜偶像干犯天主盛怒、
