The king of Assyria complied by attacking Damascus and capturing it. He deported its inhabitants to Kir and put Rezin to death.

So the king of Assyria did what Ahaz asked him to do. He attacked the city of Damascus and captured it. He sent its people away to Kir. And he put Rezin to death.

And the king of Assyria listened to him. The king of Assyria marched up against Damascus and took it, carrying its people captive to Kir, and he killed Rezin.

So the king of Assyria attacked the Aramean capital of Damascus and led its population away as captives, resettling them in Kir. He also killed King Rezin.

耶和华说：“以色列人啊，在我眼中，你们不是和古实人一样吗？我不是领你们出埃及，也领非利士人出迦斐托，领亚兰人出吉珥吗？

以拦人带着箭袋，率领战车和骑兵前来，吉珥人也亮出盾牌。

耶和华说：“大马士革人三番四次地犯罪，我必不收回对他们的惩罚，因为他们用打粮食的铁器蹂躏基列。所以我要降火在哈薛王家，烧毁便·哈达王的城堡。我要折断大马士革城的门闩，铲除亚文平原的居民和伯·伊甸的掌权者，使亚兰人被掳到吉珥。这是耶和华说的。”

因此耶和华必驱使敌人来攻击他们。

亚哈斯从耶和华的殿里、王宫和官员家中取财宝送给亚述王，但无济于事。

然而，在他能明辨是非之前，你所惧怕的这二王的国土必荒废。

因此，他的上帝耶和华把他交在亚兰王手中，亚兰王就打败他，把他的许多人民掳到大马士革。他也被交在以色列王手中，损失惨重。
