Then King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria. He saw an altar in Damascus and sent to Uriah the priest a sketch of the altar, with detailed plans for its construction.

Then King Ahaz went to Damascus. He went there to see Tiglath- Pileser, the king of Assyria. Ahaz saw an altar in Damascus. He sent a drawing of it to Uriah the priest. Ahaz also sent him plans for building it.

When King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, he saw the altar that was at Damascus. And King Ahaz sent to Uriah the priest a model of the altar, and its pattern, exact in all its details.

耶和华说：“不要效法列国的行为。他们被天象吓倒，你们却不要因天象而害怕。

他们若为自己的行为感到羞愧，你就把殿的构造、出入口等整个设计，以及殿中的一切律例和法则告诉他们，并且当着他们的面写下来，让他们忠于设计，遵守律例。

竟去祭拜打败他的大马士革人的神明，说：“既然亚兰王的神明帮助了亚兰人，我要向这些神明献祭，以便它们帮助我。”但那些神明导致了他和全体以色列人的灭亡。亚哈斯将耶和华上帝殿里的器皿收集起来打碎，封锁殿门，并在耶路撒冷的每个角落为自己设立祭坛。他还在犹大各城建立丘坛，向其他神明烧香，惹他祖先的上帝耶和华发怒。

他们不再在我圣殿旁边建庙宇，使它们的门槛和门柱紧挨着我的门槛和门柱，以致我与它们只有一墙之隔。他们曾经行可憎的事，玷污我的圣名，所以我发怒消灭他们。

他们的教导无非是人的规条，他们敬拜我也是枉然。’”

摩西把耶和华的这些话记录下来。第二天清晨，摩西在山脚筑了一座坛，立了十二根柱子代表以色列的十二支派。

你们不可追随世界的潮流，要随着思想的不断更新而改变，这样就能明辨上帝的旨意，知道什么是良善、纯全、蒙祂悦纳的。

摩西察看这一切工作，见他们都是按照耶和华的吩咐做的，就给他们祝福。

以色列王比加执政期间，亚述王提革拉·毗列色来犯，夺取了以云、亚伯·伯·玛迦、亚挪、基低斯和夏琐，占领了基列、加利利及拿弗他利全境，把那里的居民掳往亚述。

大卫将殿的走廊、房舍、库房、楼房、内室和安放施恩座的圣所的图样都交给所罗门，又将心里构想的耶和华殿的院子、四周的房屋、殿的库房和圣物库房的图样都交给他。

他们的行为玷污了自己，使自己沦为淫妇。

他就不必供养父母。’你们这是用传统来废掉上帝的诫命。

要知道，你们从传统的、没有意义的生活中被救赎出来，不是靠金银等会朽坏的东西，

那时，你们要谨慎，不可受诱惑去效法他们的习俗，不可打听他们神明的事，说，‘这些民族怎样供奉他们的神明呢？我也要效法。’

大卫说：“以上这一切都是耶和华亲手指示我的，让我明白工作的细节。”

便恋上了他们，差遣使者到他们那里。巴比伦人便来上她的床，放纵情欲玷污了她。之后，她便厌弃他们。
