這次你若再不答應，明天我要使蝗蟲飛入你的國境。牠們鋪天蓋地，要吃光冰雹過後田間所剩的，包括一切樹木。你的王宮及臣僕和所有埃及人的房屋都要佈滿蝗蟲，這是你祖祖輩輩從未見過的蝗災。』」摩西說完，便轉身離開法老。

「你要寫信告訴非拉鐵非教會的天使，那位聖潔、真實、拿著大衛的鑰匙、開了門無人能關、關了門無人能開的主說，

迦得就來見大衛，對他說：「你願意國內有七年饑荒呢？還是被敵人追殺三個月呢？還是國內發生三天瘟疫呢？請你考慮好後告訴我，我好回覆那差我來的。」大衛說：「我實在為難！不過我寧願落在耶和華的手中，也不願落在人的手中，因為耶和華有無限的憐憫。」於是，那天早晨，耶和華在以色列降下瘟疫，瘟疫持續了三天，從但到別示巴共有七萬人死亡。
