They spoke about the God of Jerusalem as they did about the gods of the other peoples of the world— the work of human hands.

They were comparing the God of Jerusalem to the gods of the other nations of the world. But those gods were only statues. They had been made by human hands.

And they spoke of the God of Jerusalem as they spoke of the gods of the peoples of the earth, which are the work of men’s hands.

These officers talked about the God of Jerusalem as though he were one of the pagan gods, made by human hands.

They spoke against the God of Jerusalem like they had spoken against the gods of the peoples of the earth, which were made by human hands.

They spoke of the God of Jerusalem as they did against the gods of the peoples of the earth, the work of human hands.

And they spoke against the God of Jerusalem, as against the gods of the people of the earth— the work of men’s hands.

撒瑪利亞啊，耶和華已拋棄你的牛犢；我的怒氣向拜牛犢的人發作。他們要到幾時方能無罪呢？因這牛犢是出於以色列，是匠人所造的，並不是神。撒瑪利亞的牛犢必被打碎。

神啊，惟願你殺戮惡人；你們好流人血的，離開我去吧！他們說惡言頂撞你，你的仇敵妄稱你的名。

當如何回答外邦的使者呢？「耶和華建立了錫安，在其中他困苦的百姓必有倚靠。」

將列國的神明扔在火裏，因為它們不是神明，是人手所造的，是木頭、石頭，所以被滅絕了。

耶和華所立的根基在聖山上。耶和華愛錫安的門，勝於愛雅各一切的住處。神的城啊，有榮耀的事是指着你說的。（細拉）

他們譏笑人，憑惡意說欺壓人的話。他們說話自高；他們的口褻瀆上天，他們的舌毀謗全地。所以他的百姓歸到這裏，享受滿杯的水。他們說：「神怎能曉得？至高者哪會知道呢？」

「『凡製造耶和華所憎惡的偶像，無論是雕刻的，是鑄造的，就是工匠用手造的，或暗中設置的，這人必受詛咒！』眾百姓要回應說：『阿們！』

外邦的偶像是金的，是銀的，是人手所造的，有口卻不能言，有眼卻不能看，有耳卻不能聽，口中也沒有氣息。造它們的要像它們一樣，凡靠它們的也必如此。

在猶大，神為人所認識；在以色列，他的名為大。在撒冷有他的住處，在錫安有他的居所。

但是你們是來到錫安山，永生神的城，就是天上的耶路撒冷，那裏有千千萬萬的天使，

我與我祖先向列邦民族所行的，你們豈不知道嗎？列邦的神明何嘗能救自己的國脫離我的手呢？我祖先所滅的那些國的神明，有誰能救自己的百姓脫離我的手呢？難道你們的神能救你們脫離我的手嗎？現在，不要讓希西家這樣欺騙你們，誘惑你們，也不要相信他，因為沒有一國一邦的神明能救自己的百姓脫離我的手和我祖先的手，你們的神也絕不能救你們脫離我的手。』」西拿基立的臣僕還說了一些話來毀謗耶和華神和他的僕人希西家。西拿基立也寫信毀謗耶和華－以色列的神，說：「列邦的神明既不能救自己的百姓脫離我的手，希西家的神也不能救他的百姓脫離我的手。」

萬民的習俗是虛空的；偶像不過是從樹林中砍來的木頭，是匠人用斧頭做成的手工。

錘煉的銀片是從他施來的，金子則從烏法而來，都是匠人和銀匠的手工；又有藍色和紫色的衣服，全都是巧匠的作品。

因為耶和華揀選了錫安，願意當作自己的居所：「這是我永遠安歇之所；我要住在這地方，因為我願意在這裏。

因他伸手攻擊神，逞強對抗全能者，挺着頸項，用盾牌堅厚的凸面向全能者直闖；

這民離棄我，向別神燒香，跪拜自己手所造的，我要針對這一切惡行，向他們宣讀我的判決。

在那裏，你們必事奉人手所造的神明，它們是木頭，是石頭，不能看，不能聽，不能吃，不能聞。

惡人為何輕慢神，心裏說「你必不追究」？你已經察看，顧念人的憂患和愁苦，放在你的手中。無倚無靠的人把自己交託給你，你向來是幫助孤兒的。

卻揀選猶大支派，揀選他所喜愛的錫安山；

你僕人曾打死獅子和熊，這未受割禮的非利士人必像獅子和熊一樣，因為他向永生神的軍隊罵陣。」

他將一半的木頭燒在火中，用它烤肉來吃；吃飽了，就自己取暖說：「啊哈，我暖和了，我看到火了！」然後又用剩下的一半做了一個神明，就是雕刻的偶像，向這偶像俯伏叩拜，向它禱告說：「求你拯救我，因你是我的神明。」他們既無知，又不思想；因為耶和華蒙蔽他們的眼，使他們看不見，塞住他們的心，使他們不明白。沒有一個心裏醒悟，有知識，有聰明，能說：「我曾拿一部分用火燃燒，在炭火上烤餅，也烤肉來吃。這剩下的，我豈要做可憎之像嗎？我豈可向木頭叩拜呢？」他以灰塵為食，心裏迷糊，以致偏邪，不能自救，也不能說：「我右手中豈不是有虛謊嗎？」

以色列人和猶大人從年輕時，就專做我眼中看為惡的事。以色列人盡以手所做的惹我發怒。這是耶和華說的。
