你们要把旧酵除掉，好成为真正无酵的新面团，因为我们逾越节的羔羊——基督已经被献为祭了。所以，我们不可带着歹毒邪恶的旧酵守这逾越节，而要用真诚纯洁的无酵饼。

你们要宰杀逾越节的羊羔，洁净自己，为你们的弟兄做好准备，依照耶和华借摩西所吩咐的去行。”

信差将这通告逐城传遍以法莲和玛拿西，直到西布伦，可是那些地方的人却嘲笑、戏弄他们。然而，有些亚设人、玛拿西人和西布伦人谦卑悔改，来到耶路撒冷。

你要向以色列全体会众宣布，本月的第十日，每家都要预备一只羊羔，一家一只。倘若家人太少，吃不了一只，可以跟最近的邻居共享一只，你们要按人数和各人的食量预备羊羔。羊羔必须是毫无残疾、一岁的公绵羊或公山羊。全体会众要把羊留到本月十四日，在黄昏时分宰杀，然后取点血涂在房子的门框和门楣上，全家要在房子里吃羊肉。当晚，你们要用火把羊肉烤熟，与无酵饼和苦菜一起吃。不可吃生羊肉，也不可煮着吃，要把整只羊，连头带腿和内脏一并烤着吃。不可把肉留到早晨，留到早晨的肉要烧掉。你们吃的时候，要束腰、穿鞋、手中拿杖，要赶快吃，这是耶和华的逾越节。“因为那一夜我要巡遍埃及，把境内所有长子和头生的牲畜全都杀掉，也要严惩埃及所有的神明。我是耶和华。涂在你们房屋上的血是一个记号，我见到这血就会越过你们。我击打埃及的时候，那灾祸不会落到你们身上。你们要记住这一天，守为耶和华的节期，作为世世代代永远的定例。“七天之内你们都要吃无酵饼。第一天，要清除家中所有的酵。任何人若在这七天当中吃有酵的饼，要将他从以色列人中铲除。在节期的第一天和第七天，你们都要招聚百姓举行圣会。这两天所有人都不得工作，除了预备各人要吃的以外，不可做任何工。你们要守这无酵节，因为我在这天把你们大队人马从埃及领了出来。你们要守这节期，作为世世代代永远的定例。从一月十四日晚上开始，直到二十一日晚上，你们都要吃无酵饼。在这七天内，你们屋里不能有酵。任何人若吃了有酵的东西，不论他是寄居者还是本地人，要将他从以色列会众中铲除。无论你们住在哪里都要吃无酵饼，不能吃有酵的食物。”

以色列全境的祭司和利未人都从四面八方来投奔罗波安。

他们的恶行阻挠他们归向自己的上帝，邪淫之灵占据了他们的心，以致他们不认识耶和华。

一位上帝的仆人来对他说：“王啊，不要让以色列的军队与你同去，因为耶和华不与以色列人——以法莲的子孙同在。

以法莲啊，我怎能舍弃你？以色列啊，我怎能弃绝你？我怎能使你的下场如押玛？我怎能对待你如对待洗扁？我的心意改变，我满怀怜爱。

你们要在你们的上帝耶和华选定的敬拜场所，把牛羊作为逾越节的祭牲献给祂。吃祭牲的时候，不可吃有酵的饼，七天之内要吃无酵饼，即忆苦饼，以便你们一生谨记离开埃及的日子，因为当时你们离开得很仓促。那七天之内，你们境内不可有酵母。第一天傍晚献的祭肉不可留到第二天早晨。在你们的上帝耶和华将要赐给你们的各城中，你们不可随便献逾越节的祭牲，而是要在傍晚日落时分，即你们离开埃及的时候，到你们的上帝耶和华选定的敬拜场所献逾越节的祭牲。
