約但西亞摩利諸王、與海濱迦南諸王、聞主於以色列人前、使約但之水涸、待以色列人悉過、則心怯膽喪、懼以色列人魂不附體、魂不附體或作志氣盡墜○

謂之曰、主已將此地賜爾、為我所知、我儕悉懼爾、斯地一切居民、皆緣爾喪膽、爾出伊及時、主為爾使紅海水涸、爾如何待約但東之亞摩利二王西宏及噩、即爾所殲滅者、此皆為我所聞、我聞之心怯、各緣爾之故、魂不附體、魂不附體或作志氣盡墜蓋主爾之天主乃上天下地之天主、

彼因恐懼、雖可匿之磐巖、亦必越過、或作彼之力必因恐懼而歸於無有彼之將帥、必因旗纛而驚怯、此乃在郇有火場、在耶路撒冷有火爐之主所言、

自今日、我使天下萬民因爾驚恐畏懼、彼聞爾名、俱戰慄悚惶、

民出掠亞蘭人之營、於是細麵一細亞、值銀一舍客勒、麰麥二細亞、值銀一舍客勒、誠如主言、

驚懼之聲、常聞於耳、平康之時、殘賊忽至而害之、

又謂約書亞曰、主必以其全地付於我手、其地一切居民、皆緣我喪膽、

約沙法率眾來取敵人之物、在屍中多得貨財、剝之得美衣、珍寶、財物甚多、不能負荷、直取至三日方盡、

敵人歟、爾舟之纜咸解矣、不能立桅、不得揚帆、其時奪獲貨財甚多、民以均分、跛者亦奪獲貨財、

參孫感於主之神、下至亞實基倫、殺亞實基倫人三十、褫其衣、以給解隱語者、遂大怒而返父之家、

然於此諸事、我儕賴愛我者、大獲全勝、
