‘ This is what the Lord says: Do not go up to fight against your fellow Israelites. Go home, every one of you, for this is my doing.’” So they obeyed the words of the Lord and turned back from marching against Jeroboam.

押尼珥向約押呼喊，說：「難道刀劍要永久吞噬下去嗎？你不知道結局將是苦果嗎？你要到什麼時候才吩咐大家轉回不追趕自己的兄弟呢？」

總而言之，你們大家都要心思一致，互相同情，相愛如弟兄，心存憐憫，滿有謙卑。

我說這話，是為了使你們羞愧。難道你們中間沒有一個智慧人，能在他的弟兄之間分辨是非嗎？你們竟然弟兄控告弟兄，而且告到了不信的人面前！所以，你們彼此告狀，對你們已經是一個全然的失敗。你們為什麼不情願受委屈呢？為什麼不情願受虧負呢？然而你們卻委屈人、虧負人，況且這是對你們的弟兄！

你們當常存弟兄之愛。
