我父親大衛心裏原有意思要為永恆主耶和華以色列之上帝的名建殿；

我父大衛、有意為以色列上帝耶和華之名建室、

我父大闢意欲建殿、奉事以色列族之上帝耶和華、以籲其名。

我父大衛意欲為主以色列天主之名建殿、

“ My father David had it in his heart to build a temple for the Name of the Lord, the God of Israel.

“ With all his heart my father David wanted to build a temple. He wanted to do it so the Lord could put his Name there. The Lord is the God of Israel.

Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of the Lord, the God of Israel.

Then Solomon said,“ My father, David, wanted to build this Temple to honor the name of the Lord, the God of Israel.

My father David had his heart set on building a temple for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel.

Now it was in the heart of my father David to build a house for the name of the Lord, the God of Israel.

大卫王站起来，说：“我的弟兄，我的百姓啊，请听我说！我心里本想建造殿宇，安放耶和华的约柜，作为我们上帝的脚凳，并且我已经预备了建造的材料。

大卫住在自己宫中，对拿单先知说：“看哪，我住在香柏木的宫中，耶和华的约柜却在幔子里。”拿单对大卫说：“你可以完全照你的心意去做，因为上帝与你同在。”当夜上帝的话临到拿单，说：“你去对我仆人大卫说：‘耶和华如此说：你不可建造殿宇给我居住。自从我领以色列人上来，直到今日，我未曾住过殿宇；我从这会幕到那会幕，从这帐幕到那帐幕。凡我同以色列人所走的地方，我何曾向以色列的一个士师，就是我吩咐牧养我百姓的，说过这话：你们为何不给我建造香柏木的殿宇呢？’现在，你要对我仆人大卫这样说：‘万军之耶和华如此说：我从羊圈中将你召来，叫你不再牧放羊群，立你作我百姓以色列的君王。你无论往哪里去，我都与你同在，剪除你所有的仇敌。我必使你得大名，好像世上伟人的名一样。我必为我百姓以色列选定一个地方，栽植他们，使他们住自己的地方，不再受搅扰；凶恶之子也不再像从前那样扰乱他们，并不像我命令士师治理我百姓以色列的日子。我必制伏你所有的仇敌，并且我应许你，耶和华必为你建立家室。当你寿数满足归你祖先的时候，我必使你的后裔，你自己的儿子接续你；我也必坚定他的国。他必为我建造殿宇，我必坚定他的王位，直到永远。我要作他的父，他要作我的子；我必不使我的慈爱离开他，像离开在你以前的那位一样。我要永远坚立他在我的家和我的国里；他的王位也必坚定，直到永远。’”拿单就按这一切话，照这一切异象告诉大卫。

大卫对所罗门说：“我儿啊，我心里本想为耶和华—我上帝的名建造殿宇，
