胸懷睿智之人、較邑中十長者、更有能焉。

爾小子、宜畏耶和華而尊王、勿交厭故喜新之人。

國中有人、爾祖之時、為至聖上帝之神所感、具聰明、有智慧、與上帝之智無異、爾祖尼布甲尼撒王位之為博士賢人太史卜師之長、

群臣豪傑、與大闢王眾子、服所羅門王。

上帝感爾、俾宗基督耶穌、而智由以成、義由以稱、聖由以作、罪由以贖、其實皆由上帝也、

以正理鞫民、為貧民聽訟兮、

耶和華以大能降罰於埃及人、以色列族見而寅畏、篤信耶和華、亦信其僕摩西。

撒母耳遂籲耶和華、是日雷震雨降、民甚畏耶和華、亦懼撒母耳、

當日耶和華使約書亞為尊於以色列族前、民盡寅畏、至於畢生、如畏摩西然。
