挪亚因为有信心，在上帝指示他未来要发生的事之后，就怀着敬畏的心建造方舟，来救全家的人。他借着信心定了那个世代的罪，并承受了因信而来的义。亚伯拉罕因为有信心，听到上帝的呼召后，就遵命前往他将要承受为产业的地方，但他出发的时候还不知道自己要去哪里。

第二天清晨，众人起来去提哥亚的旷野。他们出发的时候，约沙法站着说：“犹大人和耶路撒冷的居民啊，请听我说！要信靠你们的上帝耶和华，你们就必坚立；要相信祂的先知，你们就必得胜。”

挪亚就照着上帝的吩咐把事情都办好了。

亚伯拉罕清早起来，准备好驴，劈好献燔祭用的柴，带着两个仆人和儿子以撒动身前往上帝指示他的地方。

耶稣说：“我不是跟你说过，只要你信，就会看见上帝的荣耀吗？”

那时他将近百岁，知道自己身体如同已死，撒拉也过了生育的岁数，但他的信心仍然没有动摇。他没有因不信而怀疑上帝的应许，反倒信心更加坚定，将荣耀归给上帝。

耶稣说：“妇人，你的信心真大！我答应你的要求。”就在那一刻，她女儿就好了。

耶稣叫门徒来，说：“我实在告诉你们，这位穷寡妇比其他人奉献的都多，

亚伯兰就照耶和华的吩咐离开哈兰，侄儿罗得与他同行。那时亚伯兰七十五岁。

亚伯拉罕被试验时凭信心把以撒献为祭物，承受应许的亚伯拉罕当时献上了自己的独生子。
