耶稣回答：“最重要的是：‘以色列啊，你当听好！主——我们的神，是独一的主。你要以全心、全灵、全意、全力爱主——你的神。’“其次就是‘要爱邻如己。’没有别的诫命比这两条更大的了。”那经文士就对耶稣说：“不错，老师，你真的讲了：神只有一位，除他以外没有别的神。以全心、全智、全力来爱神，并且要爱邻如己，这是比所有的燔祭和各种祭祀都重要的。”耶稣见他回答得有智慧，就对他说：“你离神的国不远了。”于是，没有人敢再质问耶稣了。

耶稣对他说：“‘你要以全心、全灵、全意爱主——你的神’，这是最大的，也是最重要的诫命。其次的也和它类似，‘要爱邻如己。’全部律法和先知书都是以这两条诫命为依据的。”

弟兄们，你们蒙召是为了得自由，只是不可用这自由给肉体一个机会，而是要藉着爱彼此服事，因为全部律法都在“要爱邻如己”这一句话里得以满足了。

不过，你们如果照着经上那条至尊的律法“要爱邻如己”完全实行，你们就做得很好了。但如果你们偏待人，就是犯罪，并被律法指证是违犯律法的人。因为那遵守整个律法的人，只在一条上跌倒，就成了干犯所有律法的了。原来那位说过“不可通奸”的，也说过“不可杀人”。你即使不通奸，却杀人，你还是成了违犯律法的人。既然你们将要照着那使人得自由的律法受审判，就应当照此说话、行事。

他们就拉住保罗，带他到亚略巴古，问他：“你所讲论的这新教导，我们可以知道吗？
