So David and the elders of Israel and the commanders of units of a thousand went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord from the house of Obed-Edom, with rejoicing.

大衛聽說耶和華因為約櫃而賜福給俄別·以東全家及其一切所有，就滿心歡喜地去把上帝的約櫃從俄別·以東家接進大衛城。這一次，抬耶和華約櫃的人走了六步，大衛就獻上公牛和肥犢為祭。大衛穿著細麻布的以弗得在耶和華面前盡情跳舞。大衛和全體以色列人在歡呼聲和號角聲中把耶和華的約櫃迎進大衛城。耶和華的約櫃進大衛城的時候，掃羅的女兒米甲從窗戶看見大衛在耶和華面前又跳又舞，心裡就輕視他。他們把耶和華的約櫃抬來，安放在大衛準備好的帳篷裡。大衛在耶和華面前獻上燔祭和平安祭，然後奉萬軍之耶和華的名給民眾祝福，還分給所有以色列人，不論男女，每人一個餅、一塊肉和一個葡萄餅。眾人就各自回家去了。大衛回到家為自己的家人祝福，米甲出來迎接他，說：「今天以色列王好光彩呀！居然像個粗俗之人，在臣僕和婢女面前露體！」大衛對她說：「我是在耶和華面前跳舞。祂不用你父親和你父親家裡的人，而是選立我來治理祂的以色列子民，所以我要在祂面前歡慶。我要讓自己更卑微，自視低賤，但你說的那些婢女會尊重我。」掃羅的女兒米甲終生都沒有生育。

他會派一些人做千夫長、五十夫長，一些人為他耕種田地、收割莊稼，一些人製造兵器和戰車的裝備。

摩西對回來的千夫長和百夫長發怒，

你們要靠主常常喜樂！我再說，你們要喜樂！

猶大人和耶路撒冷人在約沙法的帶領下，歡歡喜喜地返回耶路撒冷，因為耶和華使他們戰勝了仇敵。他們一路彈琴、鼓瑟、吹號回到耶路撒冷，進入耶和華的殿。

所羅門把以色列的長老、各支派的首領和族長召集到耶路撒冷，準備把耶和華的約櫃從大衛城錫安運上來。

因為真正受割禮的人是我們這些靠著上帝的靈敬拜、以基督耶穌為榮、不倚靠自身條件的人。

但你們現在卻背棄了拯救你們脫離一切災難和困苦的上帝，竟然對祂說，『我們要你立一位王來統治我們。』所以你們現在就按著支派宗族站在耶和華面前吧！」

大衛因耶和華擊殺烏撒而煩惱，就稱那地方為毗列斯·烏撒，沿用至今。那天，大衛懼怕上帝，他說：「我怎能將上帝的約櫃運到我這裡？」因此，大衛沒有將約櫃運到大衛城，而是把它運到迦特人俄別·以東家。上帝的約櫃在俄別·以東家存放了三個月。耶和華使俄別·以東家及其擁有的一切都蒙福。

你們要和兒女、僕婢、同城的利未人、寄居者及孤兒寡婦在你們的上帝耶和華選定的敬拜場所，在祂面前一起歡喜快樂。

於是，我把各支派中有智慧和受敬重的人立為你們的首領，即千夫長、百夫長、五十夫長、十夫長和其他官長，治理你們。

以法他的伯利恆啊，你在猶大各城中毫不起眼，但將有一位從你那裡出來，為我統治以色列；祂的根源自亙古，來自太初。

就對左右的臣僕說：「便雅憫人啊，你們聽著！難道耶西的兒子會給你們田地和葡萄園嗎？他能立你們做千夫長和百夫長嗎？

你們和家人要在那裡，在你們的上帝耶和華面前吃喝；要為你們所做的一切蒙祂賜福而歡喜快樂。

來吧，讓我們向耶和華歌唱，向拯救我們的磐石歡呼。讓我們懷著感恩的心來到祂面前，向祂高唱讚美詩。

普世要向耶和華歡呼！你們要高高興興地事奉耶和華，到祂面前來歡唱。

以色列人、祭司、利未人，以及其餘流亡歸來的人都滿心歡喜地為上帝的殿舉行奉獻禮。

要在你們的上帝耶和華選定的地方，為祂守住棚節七天；要滿心歡喜，因為你們的上帝耶和華賜福你們，使你們的出產豐富、凡事順利。

要在你們的上帝耶和華選定的地方，與兒女、僕婢及同城的利未人一起在耶和華面前吃。要為你們所做的一切，在你們的上帝耶和華面前歡喜快樂。
