  • Leviticus 16:18 - “Then Aaron will come out to purify the altar that stands before the Lord. He will do this by taking some of the blood from the bull and the goat and putting it on each of the horns of the altar.
  • Leviticus 16:19 - Then he must sprinkle the blood with his finger seven times over the altar. In this way, he will cleanse it from Israel’s defilement and make it holy.
  • Leviticus 4:35 - Then he must remove all the sheep’s fat, just as he does with the fat of a sheep presented as a peace offering. He will burn the fat on the altar on top of the special gifts presented to the Lord. Through this process, the priest will purify the people from their sin, making them right with the Lord, and they will be forgiven.
  • Leviticus 16:6 - “Aaron will present his own bull as a sin offering to purify himself and his family, making them right with the Lord.
  • Numbers 6:14 - and offer their sacrifices to the Lord: a one-year-old male lamb without defect for a burnt offering, a one-year-old female lamb without defect for a sin offering, a ram without defect for a peace offering,
  • Leviticus 16:11 - “Aaron will present his own bull as a sin offering to purify himself and his family, making them right with the Lord. After he has slaughtered the bull as a sin offering,
  • Numbers 6:16 - The priest will present these offerings before the Lord: first the sin offering and the burnt offering;
  • Leviticus 4:20 - just as he does with the bull offered as a sin offering for the high priest. Through this process, the priest will purify the people, making them right with the Lord, and they will be forgiven.
  • Leviticus 5:9 - Then he will sprinkle some of the blood of the sin offering against the sides of the altar, and the rest of the blood will be drained out at the base of the altar. This is an offering for sin.
  • Leviticus 5:10 - The priest will then prepare the second bird as a burnt offering, following all the procedures that have been prescribed. Through this process the priest will purify you from your sin, making you right with the Lord, and you will be forgiven.
  • Leviticus 5:7 - “But if you cannot afford to bring a sheep, you may bring to the Lord two turtledoves or two young pigeons as the penalty for your sin. One of the birds will be for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering.
  • Hebrews 9:22 - In fact, according to the law of Moses, nearly everything was purified with blood. For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness.
  • Leviticus 16:21 - He will lay both of his hands on the goat’s head and confess over it all the wickedness, rebellion, and sins of the people of Israel. In this way, he will transfer the people’s sins to the head of the goat. Then a man specially chosen for the task will drive the goat into the wilderness.
  • Leviticus 8:34 - Everything we have done today was commanded by the Lord in order to purify you, making you right with him.
  • Leviticus 14:22 - The offering must also include two turtledoves or two young pigeons, whichever the person can afford. One of the pair must be used for the sin offering and the other for a burnt offering.

  • Leviticus 9:7 - Then Moses said to Aaron, “Come to the altar and sacrifice your sin offering and your burnt offering to purify yourself and the people. Then present the offerings of the people to purify them, making them right with the Lord, just as he has commanded.”
  • Numbers 8:8 - Have them bring a young bull and a grain offering of choice flour moistened with olive oil, along with a second young bull for a sin offering.
  • Leviticus 1:4 - Lay your hand on the animal’s head, and the Lord will accept its death in your place to purify you, making you right with him.
  • Leviticus 8:14 - Then Moses presented the bull for the sin offering. Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the bull’s head,
  • Exodus 29:10 - “Bring the young bull to the entrance of the Tabernacle, where Aaron and his sons will lay their hands on its head.
  • Hebrews 10:4 - For it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
  • Hebrews 10:5 - That is why, when Christ came into the world, he said to God, “You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings. But you have given me a body to offer.
  • Hebrews 10:6 - You were not pleased with burnt offerings or other offerings for sin.
  • Hebrews 10:7 - Then I said, ‘Look, I have come to do your will, O God— as is written about me in the Scriptures.’”
  • Hebrews 10:8 - First, Christ said, “You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings or burnt offerings or other offerings for sin, nor were you pleased with them” (though they are required by the law of Moses).
  • Hebrews 10:9 - Then he said, “Look, I have come to do your will.” He cancels the first covenant in order to put the second into effect.
  • Hebrews 10:10 - For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.
