  • Numbers 3:31 - Now their duties included the ark, the table, the lampstand, the altars, the utensils of the sanctuary with which they minister, the curtain, and all the service concerning them;

  • 1 Chronicles 23:23 - The sons of Mushi were three: Mahli, Eder, and Jeremoth.
  • 1 Chronicles 23:24 - These were the sons of Levi according to their fathers’ households, the heads of the fathers’ households of those among them who were counted, in the number of names by their head count, doing the work for the service of the house of the Lord, from twenty years old and upward.
  • 1 Chronicles 23:25 - For David said, “The Lord God of Israel has given rest to His people, and He dwells in Jerusalem forever.
  • 1 Chronicles 23:26 - Also, the Levites will no longer need to carry the tabernacle and all its utensils for its service.”
  • 1 Chronicles 23:27 - For by the last words of David, the sons of Levi were counted from twenty years old and upward.
  • 1 Chronicles 23:28 - For their office is to assist the sons of Aaron with the service of the house of the Lord, in the courtyards and in the chambers, and in the purification of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God,
  • 1 Chronicles 23:29 - and with the showbread, and the fine flour for a grain offering, and unleavened wafers, or what is baked in the pan or what is well-mixed, and all measures of volume and size.
  • 1 Chronicles 23:30 - They are to stand every morning to thank and to praise the Lord, and likewise at evening,
  • 1 Chronicles 23:31 - and to offer all burnt offerings to the Lord, on the Sabbaths, the new moons and the appointed festivals, in the number determined by the ordinance concerning them, continually before the Lord.
  • 1 Chronicles 23:32 - So they are to perform the duties of the tent of meeting, the holy place, and of assisting the sons of Aaron their relatives, for the service of the house of the Lord.
  • Nehemiah 13:5 - had prepared a large room for him, where previously they used to put the grain offerings, the frankincense, the utensils and the tithes of grain, wine, and oil prescribed for the Levites, the singers, and the gatekeepers, and the contributions for the priests.
  • Numbers 1:53 - But the Levites shall camp around the tabernacle of the testimony, so that there will be no divine wrath against the congregation of the sons of Israel. So the Levites shall be responsible for service to the tabernacle of the testimony.”

  • Numbers 3:26 - and the curtains of the courtyard, the curtain for the entrance of the courtyard which is around the tabernacle and the altar, and its ropes, according to all the service concerning them.
  • Numbers 3:27 - Of Kohath was the family of the Amramites, the family of the Izharites, the family of the Hebronites, and the family of the Uzzielites; these were the families of the Kohathites.
  • Numbers 3:28 - In the counting of every male from a month old and upward, there were 8,600, performing the duties of the sanctuary.
  • Numbers 3:29 - The families of the sons of Kohath were to camp on the south side of the tabernacle,
  • Numbers 3:30 - and the leader of the fathers’ households of the Kohathite families: Elizaphan the son of Uzziel.
  • Numbers 3:31 - Now their duties included the ark, the table, the lampstand, the altars, the utensils of the sanctuary with which they minister, the curtain, and all the service concerning them;
  • Numbers 3:32 - and Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest was the head of the leaders of Levi, and he had the supervision of those who performed the duties of the sanctuary.
  • Numbers 3:33 - Of Merari was the family of the Mahlites and the family of the Mushites; these were the families of Merari.
  • Numbers 3:34 - Their numbered men in the counting of every male from a month old and upward: 6,200.
  • Numbers 3:35 - And the leader of the fathers’ households of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abihail. They were to camp on the northward side of the tabernacle.
  • Numbers 3:36 - Now the appointment of duties of the sons of Merari included the framework of the tabernacle, its bars, its pillars, its bases, all its equipment, and all the service concerning them,
  • Numbers 3:37 - and the pillars around the courtyard with their bases, their pegs, and their ropes.
  • Numbers 3:38 - Now those who were to camp in front of the tabernacle eastward, in front of the tent of meeting toward the sunrise, were Moses and Aaron and his sons, performing the duties of the sanctuary for the obligation of the sons of Israel; but the layman coming near was to be put to death.
  • Nehemiah 13:22 - And I ordered the Levites that they were to purify themselves and come as gatekeepers to sanctify the Sabbath day. For this also remember me, my God, and have compassion on me according to the greatness of Your mercy.
  • Nehemiah 13:10 - I also discovered that the portions of the Levites had not been given to them, so the Levites and the singers who performed the service had gone away, each to his own field.
  • Nehemiah 13:11 - So I reprimanded the officials and said, “Why has the house of God been neglected?” Then I gathered them together and stationed them at their posts.
  • Nehemiah 13:12 - All Judah then brought the tithe of the grain, wine, and oil into the storehouses.
  • Nehemiah 13:13 - To be in charge of the storehouses, I appointed Shelemiah the priest, Zadok the scribe, and Pedaiah from the Levites, and in addition to them was Hanan the son of Zaccur, the son of Mattaniah; for they were considered reliable, and it was their task to distribute to their kinsmen.
  • Numbers 4:25 - they shall carry the curtains of the tabernacle and the tent of meeting with its covering and the covering of fine leather that is on top of it, and the curtain for the entrance of the tent of meeting,

  • Numbers 4:27 - All the service of the sons of the Gershonites, that is, all their loads and all their work, shall be performed at the command of Aaron and his sons; and you shall assign to them as a duty all their loads.
  • Numbers 4:28 - This is the service of the families of the sons of the Gershonites in the tent of meeting; and their duties shall be under the direction of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.
  • Numbers 4:29 - “As for the sons of Merari, you shall count them by their families, by their fathers’ households;
  • Numbers 4:30 - from thirty years old and upward, even to fifty years old, you shall count them, everyone who can enter the service to do the work of the tent of meeting.
  • Numbers 4:31 - Now this is the duty of their loads, for all their service in the tent of meeting: the boards of the tabernacle, its bars, its pillars, and its bases,
  • Numbers 4:32 - and the pillars around the courtyard and their bases, their pegs, and their ropes, with all their equipment and with all their service; and you shall assign by names of the men the items that each is to carry.
  • Numbers 4:33 - This is the service of the families of the sons of Merari, according to all their service in the tent of meeting, under the direction of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.”
  • Numbers 4:15 - When Aaron and his sons have finished covering the holy objects and all the furnishings of the sanctuary, when the camp is to set out, after that the sons of Kohath shall come to carry them by the poles, so that they will not touch the holy objects and die. These are the things in the tent of meeting that the sons of Kohath are to carry.
  • Exodus 31:18 - When He had finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He gave Moses the two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone, written by the finger of God.
