  • Isaiah 53:3 - He was despised and rejected— a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care.
  • Mark 15:29 - The people passing by shouted abuse, shaking their heads in mockery. “Ha! Look at you now!” they yelled at him. “You said you were going to destroy the Temple and rebuild it in three days.

  • Luke 23:11 - Then Herod and his soldiers began mocking and ridiculing Jesus. Finally, they put a royal robe on him and sent him back to Pilate.
  • Job 30:10 - They despise me and won’t come near me, except to spit in my face.
  • Luke 23:35 - The crowd watched and the leaders scoffed. “He saved others,” they said, “let him save himself if he is really God’s Messiah, the Chosen One.”

  • Luke 22:65 - And they hurled all sorts of terrible insults at him.
  • Isaiah 50:6 - I offered my back to those who beat me and my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard. I did not hide my face from mockery and spitting.
  • John 2:10 - “A host always serves the best wine first,” he said. “Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!”
  • John 1:17 - For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ.
