Ezekiel 20:39 - “As for you, O people of Israel, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Go right ahead and worship your idols, but sooner or later you will obey me and will stop bringing shame on my holy name by worshiping idols.
Joshua 24:19 - Then Joshua warned the people, “You are not able to serve the Lord, for he is a holy and jealous God. He will not forgive your rebellion and your sins.
Joshua 24:20 - If you abandon the Lord and serve other gods, he will turn against you and destroy you, even though he has been so good to you.”
2 Kings 17:41 - So while these new residents worshiped the Lord, they also worshiped their idols. And to this day their descendants do the same.

Romans 6:20 - When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the obligation to do right.
Romans 6:21 - And what was the result? You are now ashamed of the things you used to do, things that end in eternal doom.
Romans 6:22 - But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life.
2 Kings 17:33 - And though they worshiped the Lord, they continued to follow their own gods according to the religious customs of the nations from which they came.
2 Kings 17:34 - And this is still going on today. They continue to follow their former practices instead of truly worshiping the Lord and obeying the decrees, regulations, instructions, and commands he gave the descendants of Jacob, whose name he changed to Israel.
Matthew 4:10 - “Get out of here, Satan,” Jesus told him. “For the Scriptures say, ‘You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.’ ”
Joshua 24:15 - But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.”

Luke 16:11 - And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven?
1 Timothy 6:9 - But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction.

James 4:4 - You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God.
Luke 16:13 - “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.”
