  • Romans 7:21 - I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong.
  • Romans 7:22 - I love God’s law with all my heart.
  • Romans 7:23 - But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me.
  • Romans 7:24 - Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death?

  • 1 Corinthians 16:13 - Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong.
  • 1 Corinthians 10:13 - The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.
  • 1 Peter 5:8 - Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
  • Galatians 5:16 - So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.
  • Galatians 5:17 - The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.
  • Ephesians 6:18 - Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
  • Revelation 16:15 - “Look, I will come as unexpectedly as a thief! Blessed are all who are watching for me, who keep their clothing ready so they will not have to walk around naked and ashamed.”
  • Luke 22:46 - “Why are you sleeping?” he asked them. “Get up and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation.”
  • Mark 14:38 - Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”
  • Matthew 6:13 - And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.
