  • Luke 19:45 - Then Jesus entered the Temple and began to drive out the people selling animals for sacrifices.
  • Luke 19:46 - He said to them, “The Scriptures declare, ‘My Temple will be a house of prayer,’ but you have turned it into a den of thieves.”
  • Luke 19:47 - After that, he taught daily in the Temple, but the leading priests, the teachers of religious law, and the other leaders of the people began planning how to kill him.
  • Luke 19:48 - But they could think of nothing, because all the people hung on every word he said.
  • Zechariah 14:2 - I will gather all the nations to fight against Jerusalem. The city will be taken, the houses looted, and the women raped. Half the population will be taken into captivity, and the rest will be left among the ruins of the city.
  • Lamentations 2:6 - He has broken down his Temple as though it were merely a garden shelter. The Lord has blotted out all memory of the holy festivals and Sabbath days. Kings and priests fall together before his fierce anger.
  • Lamentations 2:7 - The Lord has rejected his own altar; he despises his own sanctuary. He has given Jerusalem’s palaces to her enemies. They shout in the Lord’s Temple as though it were a day of celebration.
  • Lamentations 2:8 - The Lord was determined to destroy the walls of beautiful Jerusalem. He made careful plans for their destruction, then did what he had planned. Therefore, the ramparts and walls have fallen down before him.
  • 1 Kings 9:7 - then I will uproot Israel from this land that I have given them. I will reject this Temple that I have made holy to honor my name. I will make Israel an object of mockery and ridicule among the nations.
  • 1 Kings 9:8 - And though this Temple is impressive now, all who pass by will be appalled and will gasp in horror. They will ask, ‘Why did the Lord do such terrible things to this land and to this Temple?’
  • 1 Kings 9:9 - “And the answer will be, ‘Because his people abandoned the Lord their God, who brought their ancestors out of Egypt, and they worshiped other gods instead and bowed down to them. That is why the Lord has brought all these disasters on them.’”
  • Lamentations 4:1 - How the gold has lost its luster! Even the finest gold has become dull. The sacred gemstones lie scattered in the streets!
  • Ezekiel 7:20 - They were proud of their beautiful jewelry and used it to make detestable idols and vile images. Therefore, I will make all their wealth disgusting to them.
  • Ezekiel 7:21 - I will give it as plunder to foreigners, to the most wicked of nations, and they will defile it.
  • Ezekiel 7:22 - I will turn my eyes from them as these robbers invade and defile my treasured land.
  • Lamentations 5:18 - For Jerusalem is empty and desolate, a place haunted by jackals.
  • Jeremiah 26:6 - then I will destroy this Temple as I destroyed Shiloh, the place where the Tabernacle was located. And I will make Jerusalem an object of cursing in every nation on earth.’”
  • Micah 3:12 - Because of you, Mount Zion will be plowed like an open field; Jerusalem will be reduced to ruins! A thicket will grow on the heights where the Temple now stands.
  • Mark 13:2 - Jesus replied, “Yes, look at these great buildings. But they will be completely demolished. Not one stone will be left on top of another!”
  • Jeremiah 26:18 - They said, “Remember when Micah of Moresheth prophesied during the reign of King Hezekiah of Judah. He told the people of Judah, ‘This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Mount Zion will be plowed like an open field; Jerusalem will be reduced to ruins! A thicket will grow on the heights where the Temple now stands.’
