  • Ephesians 4:14 - So that we are no longer children [spiritually immature], tossed back and forth [like ships on a stormy sea] and carried about by every wind of [shifting] doctrine, by the cunning and trickery of [unscrupulous] men, by the deceitful scheming of people ready to do anything [for personal profit].
  • Proverbs 1:5 - The wise will hear and increase their learning, And the person of understanding will acquire wise counsel and the skill [to steer his course wisely and lead others to the truth],

  • Matthew 13:11 - Jesus replied to them, “To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted.
  • Matthew 13:12 - For whoever has [spiritual wisdom because he is receptive to God’s word], to him more will be given, and he will be richly and abundantly supplied; but whoever does not have [spiritual wisdom because he has devalued God’s word], even what he has will be taken away from him.
  • Proverbs 4:18 - But the path of the just (righteous) is like the light of dawn, That shines brighter and brighter until [it reaches its full strength and glory in] the perfect day.
  • Proverbs 4:19 - The way of the wicked is like [deep] darkness; They do not know over what they stumble.
  • Psalms 119:97 - Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day.
  • Psalms 119:98 - Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, For Your words are always with me.
  • Psalms 119:99 - I have better understanding and deeper insight than all my teachers [because of Your word], For Your testimonies are my meditation.
  • Psalms 119:100 - I understand more than the aged [who have not observed Your precepts], Because I have observed and kept Your precepts.
  • Psalms 119:101 - I have restrained my feet from every evil way, That I may keep Your word.
  • Psalms 119:102 - I have not turned aside from Your ordinances, For You Yourself have taught me.
  • Psalms 119:103 - How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth!
  • Psalms 119:104 - From Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way. Nun.
  • Psalms 119:105 - Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.
  • 2 Corinthians 4:6 - For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give us the Light of the knowledge of the glory and majesty of God [clearly revealed] in the face of Christ.
  • Proverbs 2:1 - My son, if you will receive my words And treasure my commandments within you,
  • Proverbs 2:2 - So that your ear is attentive to [skillful and godly] wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding [seeking it conscientiously and striving for it eagerly];
  • Proverbs 2:3 - Yes, if you cry out for insight, And lift up your voice for understanding;
  • Proverbs 2:4 - If you seek skillful and godly wisdom as you would silver And search for her as you would hidden treasures;
  • Proverbs 2:5 - Then you will understand the [reverent] fear of the Lord [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] And discover the knowledge of God.
  • Proverbs 2:6 - For the Lord gives [skillful and godly] wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
  • Proverbs 2:7 - He stores away sound wisdom for the righteous [those who are in right standing with Him]; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity [those of honorable character and moral courage],
  • Proverbs 2:8 - He guards the paths of justice; And He preserves the way of His saints (believers).
  • Proverbs 2:9 - Then you will understand righteousness and justice [in every circumstance] And integrity and every good path.
  • Proverbs 2:10 - For [skillful and godly] wisdom will enter your heart And knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
  • Proverbs 2:11 - Discretion will watch over you, Understanding and discernment will guard you,
  • Proverbs 20:27 - The spirit (conscience) of man is the lamp of the Lord, Searching and examining all the innermost parts of his being.
  • Proverbs 6:23 - For the commandment is a lamp, and the teaching [of the law] is light, And reproofs (rebukes) for discipline are the way of life,
