Leviticus 9:2 - He said to Aaron, “Take a young bull for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering, both without defects, and present them to the Lord.
Leviticus 8:34 - Everything we have done today was commanded by the Lord in order to purify you, making you right with him.
1 Samuel 3:14 - So I have vowed that the sins of Eli and his sons will never be forgiven by sacrifices or offerings.”
Hebrews 7:27 - Unlike those other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices every day. They did this for their own sins first and then for the sins of the people. But Jesus did this once for all when he offered himself as the sacrifice for the people’s sins.
Hebrews 7:28 - The law appointed high priests who were limited by human weakness. But after the law was given, God appointed his Son with an oath, and his Son has been made the perfect High Priest forever.
Leviticus 4:16 - The high priest will then take some of the bull’s blood into the Tabernacle,
Leviticus 4:17 - dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle it seven times before the Lord in front of the inner curtain.
Leviticus 4:18 - He will then put some of the blood on the horns of the altar for fragrant incense that stands in the Lord’s presence inside the Tabernacle. He will pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar for burnt offerings at the entrance of the Tabernacle.
Leviticus 4:19 - Then the priest must remove all the animal’s fat and burn it on the altar,
Leviticus 4:20 - just as he does with the bull offered as a sin offering for the high priest. Through this process, the priest will purify the people, making them right with the Lord, and they will be forgiven.
Hebrews 9:7 - But only the high priest ever entered the Most Holy Place, and only once a year. And he always offered blood for his own sins and for the sins the people had committed in ignorance.
Leviticus 4:3 - “If the high priest sins, bringing guilt upon the entire community, he must give a sin offering for the sin he has committed. He must present to the Lord a young bull with no defects.
Hebrews 5:1 - Every high priest is a man chosen to represent other people in their dealings with God. He presents their gifts to God and offers sacrifices for their sins.
Hebrews 5:3 - That is why he must offer sacrifices for his own sins as well as theirs.
