  • Psalms 50:15 - Call on Me in the day of trouble; I will rescue you, and you shall honor and glorify Me.”
  • Psalms 50:16 - But to the wicked God says: “What right have you to recite My statutes Or to take My covenant on your lips?
  • Psalms 50:17 - For you hate instruction and discipline And cast My words behind you [discarding them].
  • Psalms 50:18 - When you see a thief, you are pleased with him and condone his behavior, And you associate with adulterers.
  • Psalms 50:19 - You give your mouth to evil And your tongue frames deceit.
  • Psalms 50:20 - You sit and speak against your brother; You slander your own mother’s son.
  • Psalms 50:21 - These things you have done and I kept silent; You thought that I was just like you. Now I will reprimand and denounce you and state the case in order before your eyes.
  • Isaiah 58:6 - [Rather] is this not the fast which I choose, To undo the bonds of wickedness, To tear to pieces the ropes of the yoke, To let the oppressed go free And break apart every [enslaving] yoke?
  • Isaiah 58:7 - Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry And bring the homeless poor into the house; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not to hide yourself from [the needs of] your own flesh and blood?
  • Isaiah 58:8 - Then your light will break out like the dawn, And your healing (restoration, new life) will quickly spring forth; Your righteousness will go before you [leading you to peace and prosperity], The glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.
  • Isaiah 58:9 - Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; You will cry for help, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’ If you take away from your midst the yoke [of oppression], The finger pointed in scorn [toward the oppressed or the godly], and [every form of] wicked (sinful, unjust) speech,
  • Isaiah 58:10 - And if you offer yourself to [assist] the hungry And satisfy the need of the afflicted, Then your light will rise in darkness And your gloom will become like midday.
  • Psalms 18:40 - You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me [in defeat], And I silenced and destroyed those who hated me.
  • Psalms 18:41 - They cried for help, but there was no one to save them— Even to the Lord [they cried], but He did not answer them.
  • Proverbs 1:28 - Then they will call upon me (Wisdom), but I will not answer; They will seek me eagerly but they will not find me,
  • Proverbs 1:29 - Because they hated knowledge And did not choose the fear of the Lord [that is, obeying Him with reverence and awe-filled respect],
  • Matthew 18:26 - So the slave fell on his knees and begged him, saying, ‘Have patience with me and I will repay you everything.’
  • Matthew 18:27 - And his master’s heart was moved with compassion and he released him and forgave him [canceling] the debt.
  • Matthew 18:28 - But that same slave went out and found one of his fellow slaves who owed him a hundred denarii; and he seized him and began choking him, saying, ‘Pay what you owe!’
  • Matthew 18:29 - So his fellow slave fell on his knees and begged him earnestly, ‘Have patience with me and I will repay you.’
  • Matthew 18:30 - But he was unwilling and he went and had him thrown in prison until he paid back the debt.
  • Matthew 18:31 - When his fellow slaves saw what had happened, they were deeply grieved and they went and reported to their master [with clarity and in detail] everything that had taken place.
  • Matthew 18:32 - Then his master called him and said to him, ‘You wicked and contemptible slave, I forgave all that [great] debt of yours because you begged me.
  • Matthew 18:33 - Should you not have had mercy on your fellow slave [who owed you little by comparison], as I had mercy on you?’
  • Matthew 18:34 - And in wrath his master turned him over to the torturers (jailers) until he paid all that he owed.
  • Joshua 8:33 - All Israel, the stranger as well as the native born [among them], with their elders and officers and their judges, stood on either side of the ark before the Levitical priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord. Half of them stood in front of Mount Gerizim and half of them in front of Mount Ebal, just as Moses the servant of the Lord had commanded at first to bless the people of Israel.
  • Deuteronomy 27:12 - “These [tribes] shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people when you have crossed the Jordan: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.
