  • Exodus 34:14 - Do not worship any other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.
  • Exodus 34:15 - “Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land; for when they prostitute themselves to their gods and sacrifice to them, they will invite you and you will eat their sacrifices.
  • Exodus 34:16 - And when you choose some of their daughters as wives for your sons and those daughters prostitute themselves to their gods, they will lead your sons to do the same.
  • Genesis 4:10 - The Lord said, “What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground.
  • Psalm 106:34 - They did not destroy the peoples as the Lord had commanded them,
  • Psalm 106:35 - but they mingled with the nations and adopted their customs.
  • Psalm 106:36 - They worshiped their idols, which became a snare to them.
  • Psalm 106:37 - They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to false gods.
  • Psalm 106:38 - They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was desecrated by their blood.
  • Psalm 106:39 - They defiled themselves by what they did; by their deeds they prostituted themselves.
  • Psalm 106:40 - Therefore the Lord was angry with his people and abhorred his inheritance.
  • Jeremiah 7:23 - but I gave them this command: Obey me, and I will be your God and you will be my people. Walk in obedience to all I command you, that it may go well with you.
  • Jeremiah 7:24 - But they did not listen or pay attention; instead, they followed the stubborn inclinations of their evil hearts. They went backward and not forward.
  • Jeremiah 7:25 - From the time your ancestors left Egypt until now, day after day, again and again I sent you my servants the prophets.
  • Jeremiah 7:26 - But they did not listen to me or pay attention. They were stiff-necked and did more evil than their ancestors.’
  • Jeremiah 7:27 - “When you tell them all this, they will not listen to you; when you call to them, they will not answer.
  • Jeremiah 7:28 - Therefore say to them, ‘This is the nation that has not obeyed the Lord its God or responded to correction. Truth has perished; it has vanished from their lips.
  • Ezra 9:10 - “But now, our God, what can we say after this? For we have forsaken the commands
  • Ezra 9:11 - you gave through your servants the prophets when you said: ‘The land you are entering to possess is a land polluted by the corruption of its peoples. By their detestable practices they have filled it with their impurity from one end to the other.
  • Ezra 9:12 - Therefore, do not give your daughters in marriage to their sons or take their daughters for your sons. Do not seek a treaty of friendship with them at any time, that you may be strong and eat the good things of the land and leave it to your children as an everlasting inheritance.’
  • Ezra 9:13 - “What has happened to us is a result of our evil deeds and our great guilt, and yet, our God, you have punished us less than our sins deserved and have given us a remnant like this.
  • Exodus 23:32 - Do not make a covenant with them or with their gods.
  • Exodus 23:33 - Do not let them live in your land or they will cause you to sin against me, because the worship of their gods will certainly be a snare to you.”
  • Ezra 9:1 - After these things had been done, the leaders came to me and said, “The people of Israel, including the priests and the Levites, have not kept themselves separate from the neighboring peoples with their detestable practices, like those of the Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Jebusites, Ammonites, Moabites, Egyptians and Amorites.
  • Ezra 9:2 - They have taken some of their daughters as wives for themselves and their sons, and have mingled the holy race with the peoples around them. And the leaders and officials have led the way in this unfaithfulness.”
  • Ezra 9:3 - When I heard this, I tore my tunic and cloak, pulled hair from my head and beard and sat down appalled.
  • Deuteronomy 20:16 - However, in the cities of the nations the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes.
  • Deuteronomy 20:17 - Completely destroy them—the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites—as the Lord your God has commanded you.
  • Deuteronomy 20:18 - Otherwise, they will teach you to follow all the detestable things they do in worshiping their gods, and you will sin against the Lord your God.
  • Deuteronomy 7:16 - You must destroy all the peoples the Lord your God gives over to you. Do not look on them with pity and do not serve their gods, for that will be a snare to you.
  • Deuteronomy 7:25 - The images of their gods you are to burn in the fire. Do not covet the silver and gold on them, and do not take it for yourselves, or you will be ensnared by it, for it is detestable to the Lord your God.
  • Deuteronomy 7:26 - Do not bring a detestable thing into your house or you, like it, will be set apart for destruction. Regard it as vile and utterly detest it, for it is set apart for destruction.
  • 2 Corinthians 6:14 - Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?
  • 2 Corinthians 6:15 - What harmony is there between Christ and Belial ? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?
  • 2 Corinthians 6:16 - What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”
  • 2 Corinthians 6:17 - Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.”
  • Jeremiah 2:31 - “You of this generation, consider the word of the Lord: “Have I been a desert to Israel or a land of great darkness? Why do my people say, ‘We are free to roam; we will come to you no more’?
  • Jeremiah 2:32 - Does a young woman forget her jewelry, a bride her wedding ornaments? Yet my people have forgotten me, days without number.
  • Jeremiah 2:33 - How skilled you are at pursuing love! Even the worst of women can learn from your ways.
  • Exodus 32:21 - He said to Aaron, “What did these people do to you, that you led them into such great sin?”
  • Psalm 78:55 - He drove out nations before them and allotted their lands to them as an inheritance; he settled the tribes of Israel in their homes.
  • Psalm 78:56 - But they put God to the test and rebelled against the Most High; they did not keep his statutes.
  • Psalm 78:57 - Like their ancestors they were disloyal and faithless, as unreliable as a faulty bow.
  • Psalm 78:58 - They angered him with their high places; they aroused his jealousy with their idols.
  • Deuteronomy 12:2 - Destroy completely all the places on the high mountains, on the hills and under every spreading tree, where the nations you are dispossessing worship their gods.
  • Deuteronomy 12:3 - Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones and burn their Asherah poles in the fire; cut down the idols of their gods and wipe out their names from those places.
  • Numbers 33:52 - drive out all the inhabitants of the land before you. Destroy all their carved images and their cast idols, and demolish all their high places.
  • Numbers 33:53 - Take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given you the land to possess.
  • Genesis 3:11 - And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”
  • Genesis 3:12 - The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”
  • Jeremiah 2:36 - Why do you go about so much, changing your ways? You will be disappointed by Egypt as you were by Assyria.
  • Deuteronomy 7:2 - and when the Lord your God has delivered them over to you and you have defeated them, then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them, and show them no mercy.
  • Deuteronomy 7:3 - Do not intermarry with them. Do not give your daughters to their sons or take their daughters for your sons,
  • Deuteronomy 7:4 - for they will turn your children away from following me to serve other gods, and the Lord’s anger will burn against you and will quickly destroy you.
  • Jeremiah 2:5 - This is what the Lord says: “What fault did your ancestors find in me, that they strayed so far from me? They followed worthless idols and became worthless themselves.
  • 1 Peter 4:17 - For it is time for judgment to begin with God’s household; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?
