  • Isaiah 61:1 - The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
  • Isaiah 61:2 - to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn;
  • Isaiah 61:3 - to grant to those who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.
  • Isaiah 66:2 - All these things my hand has made, and so all these things came to be, declares the Lord. But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word.
  • Psalms 72:2 - May he judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with justice!
  • Psalms 72:3 - Let the mountains bear prosperity for the people, and the hills, in righteousness!
  • Psalms 72:4 - May he defend the cause of the poor of the people, give deliverance to the children of the needy, and crush the oppressor!

  • Isaiah 50:10 - Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the voice of his servant? Let him who walks in darkness and has no light trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God.
  • Psalms 98:9 - before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with equity.

  • Matthew 11:28 - Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
  • Ezekiel 34:16 - I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak, and the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed them in justice.
