Luke 1:69 - He has acted with great power and has saved us. He did it for those who are from the family line of his servant David.
Luke 1:70 - Long ago holy prophets said he would do it.
Acts 2:30 - But David was a prophet. He knew that God had made a promise to him. God had promised that he would make someone in David’s family line king after him.
Acts 2:31 - David saw what was coming. So he spoke about the Messiah rising from the dead. He said that the Messiah would not be left in the place of the dead. His body wouldn’t rot in the ground.
Acts 2:32 - God has raised this same Jesus back to life. We are all witnesses of this.
Acts 2:33 - Jesus has been given a place of honor at the right hand of God. He has received the Holy Spirit from the Father. This is what God had promised. It is Jesus who has poured out what you now see and hear.
Acts 2:34 - David did not go up to heaven. But he said, “ ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand.
Acts 2:35 - I will put your enemies under your control.” ’ ( Psalm 110:1 )
Acts 2:36 - “So be sure of this, all you people of Israel. You nailed Jesus to the cross. But God has made him both Lord and Messiah.”
Hosea 3:5 - After that, the people of Israel will return to the Lord their God. They will look to him and to a king from the family line of David. In the last days, they will tremble with fear as they come to the Lord. And they will receive his full blessing.
Micah 5:2 - The Lord says, “Bethlehem Ephrathah, you might not be an important town in the nation of Judah. But out of you will come for me a ruler over Israel. His family line goes back to the early years of your nation. It goes all the way back to days of long ago.”
Ezekiel 37:24 - “ ‘ “A man who belongs to the family line of my servant David will be their king. All of them will have one shepherd. They will obey my laws. And they will be careful to keep my rules.
Ezekiel 37:25 - They will live in the land I gave to my servant Jacob. That is where your people of long ago lived. They, their children, their children’s children, and their children after them will live there forever. And my servant from David’s family line will be their prince forever.
Ezekiel 21:25 - King Zedekiah, your day has come. You are an unholy and evil prince in Israel. The day for you to be punished is here.
Ezekiel 21:26 - The Lord and King says, “Take off your turban. Remove your crown. Things will not be as they were in the past. Those who are considered not important will be honored. And those who are honored will be considered not important.
Ezekiel 21:27 - Jerusalem will fall. I will destroy it. It will not be rebuilt until the true king comes. After all, the kingdom belongs to him. I will give it to him.
Ezekiel 34:23 - I will place one shepherd over them. He will belong to the family line of my servant David. He will take good care of them. He will look after them. He will be their shepherd.
Ezekiel 34:24 - I am the Lord. I will be their God. And my servant from David’s family line will be the prince among them. I have spoken. I am the Lord.
Jeremiah 33:20 - The Lord said, “Could you ever break my covenant with the day? Could you ever break my covenant with the night? Could you ever stop day and night from coming at their appointed times?
Jeremiah 33:21 - Only then could my covenant with my servant David be broken. Only then could my covenant with the Levites who serve me as priests be broken. Only then would David no longer have someone from his family line to rule on his throne.
Jeremiah 33:22 - Here is what I will do for my servant David. And here is what I will do for the Levites who serve me. I will make their children after them as many as the stars in the sky. And I will make them as many as the grains of sand on the seashore. It will be impossible to count them.”
Jeremiah 33:23 - A message from the Lord came to Jeremiah. The Lord said,
Jeremiah 33:24 - “Haven’t you noticed what these people are saying? They say, ‘The Lord once chose the two kingdoms of Israel and Judah. But now he has turned his back on them.’ So they hate my people. They do not think of them as a nation anymore.
Jeremiah 33:25 - I say, ‘What if I had not made my covenant with day and night? What if I had not established the laws of heaven and earth?
Jeremiah 33:26 - Only then would I turn my back on the children of Jacob and my servant David. Only then would I not choose one of David’s sons to rule over the children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. But I will bless my people with great success again. I will love them with tender love.’ ”
Luke 1:31 - You will become pregnant and give birth to a son. You must call him Jesus.
Luke 1:32 - He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High God. The Lord God will make him a king like his father David of long ago.
Luke 1:33 - The Son of the Most High God will rule forever over his people. They are from the family line of Jacob. That kingdom will never end.”
Lamentations 5:21 - Lord, please bring us back to you. Then we can return. Make our lives like new again.

Job 1:10 - Haven’t you guarded him and his family? Haven’t you taken care of everything he has? You have blessed everything he does. His flocks and herds are spread all through the land.
Isaiah 11:1 - Jesse’s family is like a tree that has been cut down. A new little tree will grow from its stump. From its roots a Branch will grow and produce fruit.
Isaiah 11:2 - The Spirit of the Lord will rest on that Branch. The Spirit will help him to be wise and understanding. The Spirit will help him make wise plans and carry them out. The Spirit will help him know the Lord and have respect for him.
Isaiah 11:3 - The Branch will take delight in respecting the Lord. He will not judge things only by the way they look. He won’t make decisions based simply on what people say.
Isaiah 11:4 - He will always do what is right when he judges those who are in need. He’ll be completely fair when he makes decisions about poor people. When he commands that people be punished, it will happen. When he orders that evil people be put to death, it will take place.
Isaiah 11:5 - He will put on godliness as if it were his belt. He’ll wear faithfulness around his waist.
Isaiah 11:6 - Wolves will live with lambs. Leopards will lie down with goats. Calves and lions will eat together. And little children will lead them around.
Isaiah 11:7 - Cows will eat with bears. Their little ones will lie down together. And lions will eat straw like oxen.
Isaiah 11:8 - A baby will play near a hole where cobras live. A young child will put its hand into a nest where poisonous snakes live.
Isaiah 11:9 - None of those animals will harm or destroy anything or anyone on my holy mountain of Zion. The oceans are full of water. In the same way, the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord.
Isaiah 11:10 - At that time, here is what the man who is called the Root of Jesse will do. He will be like a banner that brings nations together. They will come to him. And the place where he rules will be glorious.
Isaiah 9:6 - A child will be born to us. A son will be given to us. He will rule over us. And he will be called Wonderful Adviser and Mighty God. He will also be called Father Who Lives Forever and Prince Who Brings Peace.
Isaiah 9:7 - There will be no limit to how great his authority is. The peace he brings will never end. He will rule on David’s throne and over his kingdom. He will make the kingdom strong and secure. His rule will be based on what is fair and right. It will last forever. The Lord’s great love will make sure that happens. He rules over all.
Isaiah 5:5 - Now I will tell you what I am going to do to my vineyard. I will take away its fence. And the vineyard will be destroyed. I will break down its wall. And people will walk all over my vineyard.
Jeremiah 33:14 - “The days are coming,” announces the Lord. “At that time I will fulfill my good promise to my people. I made it to the people of Israel and Judah.
Jeremiah 33:15 - “Here is what I will do in those days and at that time. I will make a godly Branch grow from David’s royal line. He will do what is fair and right in the land.
Jeremiah 33:16 - In those days Judah will be saved. Jerusalem will live in safety. And it will be called The Lord Who Makes Us Right With Himself.”
Isaiah 63:11 - Then his people remembered what he did long ago. They recalled the days of Moses and his people. They asked, “Where is the God who brought Israel through the Red Sea? Moses led them as the shepherd of his flock. Where is the God who put his Holy Spirit among them?
Psalm 80:12 - Why have you broken down the walls around your vine? Now all who pass by it can pick its grapes.
Isaiah 16:5 - A man from the royal house of David will sit on Judah’s throne. He will rule with faithful love. When he judges he will do what is fair. He will be quick to do what is right.
Acts 15:15 - The prophets’ words agree with that. They say,
Acts 15:16 - “ ‘After this I will return and set up again David’s fallen tent. I will rebuild what was destroyed. I will make it what it used to be.
Acts 15:17 - Then everyone else can look to the Lord. This includes all the Gentiles who belong to me, says the Lord. The Lord is the one who does these things.’ ( Amos 9:11 , 12 )
