  • Acts 13:15 - After the reading from the law and the prophets, the leaders of the synagogue sent them a message, saying, “Brothers, if you have any message of exhortation for the people, speak it.”
  • Acts 6:9 - But some men from the Synagogue of the Freedmen (as it was called), both Cyrenians and Alexandrians, as well as some from Cilicia and the province of Asia, stood up and argued with Stephen.
  • Acts 28:17 - After three days Paul called the local Jewish leaders together. When they had assembled, he said to them, “Brothers, although I had done nothing against our people or the customs of our ancestors, from Jerusalem I was handed over as a prisoner to the Romans.
  • Acts 28:18 - When they had heard my case, they wanted to release me, because there was no basis for a death sentence against me.
  • Acts 28:19 - But when the Jews objected, I was forced to appeal to Caesar – not that I had some charge to bring against my own people.

  • Acts 28:21 - They replied, “We have received no letters from Judea about you, nor have any of the brothers come from there and reported or said anything bad about you.
  • Acts 28:22 - But we would like to hear from you what you think, for regarding this sect we know that people everywhere speak against it.”
  • Esther 3:8 - Then Haman said to King Ahasuerus, “There is a particular people that is dispersed and spread among the inhabitants throughout all the provinces of your kingdom whose laws differ from those of all other peoples. Furthermore, they do not observe the king’s laws. It is not appropriate for the king to provide a haven for them.
  • Esther 3:9 - If the king is so inclined, let an edict be issued to destroy them. I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to be conveyed to the king’s treasuries for the officials who carry out this business.”
  • Esther 3:10 - So the king removed his signet ring from his hand and gave it to Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, who was hostile toward the Jews.
  • Esther 3:11 - The king replied to Haman, “Keep your money, and do with those people whatever you wish.”
  • Esther 3:12 - So the royal scribes were summoned in the first month, on the thirteenth day of the month. Everything Haman commanded was written to the king’s satraps and governors who were in every province and to the officials of every people, province by province according to its script and people by people according to its language. In the name of King Ahasuerus it was written and sealed with the king’s signet ring.
  • Esther 3:13 - Letters were sent by the runners to all the king’s provinces stating that they should destroy, kill, and annihilate all the Jews, from youth to elderly, both women and children, on a particular day, namely the thirteenth day of the twelfth month (that is, the month of Adar), and to loot and plunder their possessions.
  • Acts 26:12 - “While doing this very thing, as I was going to Damascus with authority and complete power from the chief priests,
  • Acts 9:14 - and here he has authority from the chief priests to imprison all who call on your name!”
  • Acts 22:4 - I persecuted this Way even to the point of death, tying up both men and women and putting them in prison,
  • Acts 22:5 - as both the high priest and the whole council of elders can testify about me. From them I also received letters to the brothers in Damascus, and I was on my way to make arrests there and bring the prisoners to Jerusalem to be punished.
  • Acts 24:22 - Then Felix, who understood the facts concerning the Way more accurately, adjourned their hearing, saying, “When Lysias the commanding officer comes down, I will decide your case.”
  • Acts 24:14 - But I confess this to you, that I worship the God of our ancestors according to the Way (which they call a sect), believing everything that is according to the law and that is written in the prophets.
  • Acts 18:25 - He had been instructed in the way of the Lord, and with great enthusiasm he spoke and taught accurately the facts about Jesus, although he knew only the baptism of John.
  • Acts 19:23 - At that time a great disturbance took place concerning the Way.
  • Acts 19:9 - But when some were stubborn and refused to believe, reviling the Way before the congregation, he left them and took the disciples with him, addressing them every day in the lecture hall of Tyrannus.
