  • Ezekiel 3:11 - Then go to your people in exile and say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says!’ Do this whether they listen to you or not.”

  • Luke 1:41 - At the sound of Mary’s greeting, Elizabeth’s child leaped within her, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.
  • Luke 1:15 - for he will be great in the eyes of the Lord. He must never touch wine or other alcoholic drinks. He will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even before his birth.
  • 1 Corinthians 12:28 - Here are some of the parts God has appointed for the church: first are apostles, second are prophets, third are teachers, then those who do miracles, those who have the gift of healing, those who can help others, those who have the gift of leadership, those who speak in unknown languages.
  • 1 Corinthians 12:29 - Are we all apostles? Are we all prophets? Are we all teachers? Do we all have the power to do miracles?
  • 1 Corinthians 12:30 - Do we all have the gift of healing? Do we all have the ability to speak in unknown languages? Do we all have the ability to interpret unknown languages? Of course not!

  • Acts of the Apostles 1:8 - But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
  • Luke 1:67 - Then his father, Zechariah, was filled with the Holy Spirit and gave this prophecy:
  • Luke 21:15 - for I will give you the right words and such wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to reply or refute you!
  • Isaiah 28:11 - So now God will have to speak to his people through foreign oppressors who speak a strange language!
  • Ephesians 6:18 - Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

  • 1 Corinthians 14:26 - Well, my brothers and sisters, let’s summarize. When you meet together, one will sing, another will teach, another will tell some special revelation God has given, one will speak in tongues, and another will interpret what is said. But everything that is done must strengthen all of you.
  • 1 Corinthians 14:27 - No more than two or three should speak in tongues. They must speak one at a time, and someone must interpret what they say.
  • 1 Corinthians 14:28 - But if no one is present who can interpret, they must be silent in your church meeting and speak in tongues to God privately.

  • 1 Corinthians 13:8 - Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever!

He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said.
  • Acts of the Apostles 7:55 - But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed steadily into heaven and saw the glory of God, and he saw Jesus standing in the place of honor at God’s right hand.
  • Acts of the Apostles 9:17 - So Ananias went and found Saul. He laid his hands on him and said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road, has sent me so that you might regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
  • 1 Corinthians 14:21 - It is written in the Scriptures : “I will speak to my own people through strange languages and through the lips of foreigners. But even then, they will not listen to me,” says the Lord.
  • 1 Corinthians 14:22 - So you see that speaking in tongues is a sign, not for believers, but for unbelievers. Prophecy, however, is for the benefit of believers, not unbelievers.
  • 1 Corinthians 14:23 - Even so, if unbelievers or people who don’t understand these things come into your church meeting and hear everyone speaking in an unknown language, they will think you are crazy.
  • Ephesians 5:18 - Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,
  • Mark 16:17 - These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages.
  • Acts of the Apostles 4:31 - After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.
