  • 1 Samuel 10:2 - When you leave me today, you will see two men beside Rachel’s tomb at Zelzah, on the border of Benjamin. They will tell you that the donkeys have been found and that your father has stopped worrying about them and is now worried about you. He is asking, ‘Have you seen my son?’
  • Joel 2:18 - Then the Lord will pity his people and jealously guard the honor of his land.
  • Joel 2:19 - The Lord will reply, “Look! I am sending you grain and new wine and olive oil, enough to satisfy your needs. You will no longer be an object of mockery among the surrounding nations.
  • Jeremiah 14:1 - This message came to Jeremiah from the Lord, explaining why he was holding back the rain:
  • Jeremiah 14:2 - “Judah wilts; commerce at the city gates grinds to a halt. All the people sit on the ground in mourning, and a great cry rises from Jerusalem.
  • Jeremiah 14:3 - The nobles send servants to get water, but all the wells are dry. The servants return with empty pitchers, confused and desperate, covering their heads in grief.
  • Jeremiah 14:4 - The ground is parched and cracked for lack of rain. The farmers are deeply troubled; they, too, cover their heads.
  • Jeremiah 14:5 - Even the doe abandons her newborn fawn because there is no grass in the field.
  • Jeremiah 14:6 - The wild donkeys stand on the bare hills panting like thirsty jackals. They strain their eyes looking for grass, but there is none to be found.”
  • Jeremiah 14:7 - The people say, “Our wickedness has caught up with us, Lord, but help us for the sake of your own reputation. We have turned away from you and sinned against you again and again.
  • Zechariah 6:8 - Then the Lord summoned me and said, “Look, those who went north have vented the anger of my Spirit there in the land of the north.”
  • 1 Kings 18:40 - Then Elijah commanded, “Seize all the prophets of Baal. Don’t let a single one escape!” So the people seized them all, and Elijah took them down to the Kishon Valley and killed them there.

  • Amos 7:1 - The Sovereign Lord showed me a vision. I saw him preparing to send a vast swarm of locusts over the land. This was after the king’s share had been harvested from the fields and as the main crop was coming up.
  • Amos 7:2 - In my vision the locusts ate every green plant in sight. Then I said, “O Sovereign Lord, please forgive us or we will not survive, for Israel is so small.”
  • Amos 7:3 - So the Lord relented from this plan. “I will not do it,” he said.
  • Amos 7:4 - Then the Sovereign Lord showed me another vision. I saw him preparing to punish his people with a great fire. The fire had burned up the depths of the sea and was devouring the entire land.
  • Amos 7:5 - Then I said, “O Sovereign Lord, please stop or we will not survive, for Israel is so small.”
  • Amos 7:6 - Then the Lord relented from this plan, too. “I will not do that either,” said the Sovereign Lord.
  • Joshua 7:26 - They piled a great heap of stones over Achan, which remains to this day. That is why the place has been called the Valley of Trouble ever since. So the Lord was no longer angry.
  • Joshua 18:28 - Zela, Haeleph, the Jebusite town (that is, Jerusalem), Gibeah, and Kiriath-jearim —fourteen towns with their surrounding villages. This was the homeland allocated to the clans of the tribe of Benjamin.
  • 2 Samuel 24:25 - David built an altar there to the Lord and sacrificed burnt offerings and peace offerings. And the Lord answered his prayer for the land, and the plague on Israel was stopped.
