2 Reyes 21:2 - Manasés hizo lo que ofende al Señor, pues practicaba las repugnantes ceremonias de las naciones que el Señor había expulsado delante de los israelitas.
2 Reyes 21:3 - Reconstruyó los altares paganos que su padre Ezequías había destruido; además, erigió otros altares en honor de Baal e hizo una imagen de la diosa Aserá, como lo había hecho Acab, rey de Israel. Se postró ante todos los astros del cielo y los adoró.
2 Reyes 21:4 - Construyó altares en el templo del Señor, lugar del cual el Señor había dicho: «Jerusalén será el lugar donde yo habite».
2 Reyes 21:5 - En ambos atrios del templo del Señor construyó altares en honor de los astros del cielo.
2 Reyes 21:6 - Sacrificó en el fuego a su propio hijo, practicó la magia y la hechicería, y consultó a nigromantes y a espiritistas. Hizo continuamente lo que ofende al Señor, provocando así su ira.
2 Reyes 21:7 - Tomó la imagen de la diosa Aserá que él había hecho y la puso en el templo, lugar del cual el Señor había dicho a David y a su hijo Salomón: «En este templo en Jerusalén, la ciudad que he escogido de entre todas las tribus de Israel, he decidido habitar para siempre.
2 Reyes 21:8 - Nunca más dejaré que los israelitas anden perdidos fuera de la tierra que les di a sus antepasados, siempre y cuando tengan cuidado de cumplir todo lo que yo les he ordenado, es decir, toda la ley que les dio mi siervo Moisés».
2 Reyes 21:9 - Pero no hicieron caso; Manasés los descarrió, de modo que se condujeron peor que las naciones que el Señor destruyó delante de ellos.
2 Reyes 21:10 - Por lo tanto, el Señor dijo por medio de sus siervos los profetas:
2 Reyes 21:11 - «Como Manasés, rey de Judá, ha practicado estas repugnantes ceremonias y se ha conducido peor que los amorreos que lo precedieron, haciendo que los israelitas pequen con los ídolos que él hizo,
Ezequiel 20:18 - »”Allí en el desierto les dije a sus descendientes: ‘No sigan los preceptos de sus padres; no obedezcan sus leyes ni se contaminen con sus ídolos.
2 Crónicas 33:1 - Manasés tenía doce años cuando ascendió al trono, y reinó en Jerusalén cincuenta y cinco años.

2 Crónicas 33:4 - Construyó altares en el templo del Señor, lugar del cual el Señor había dicho: «En Jerusalén habitaré para siempre».
2 Crónicas 33:5 - En ambos atrios del templo del Señor construyó altares en honor de los astros del cielo.
2 Crónicas 33:6 - Sacrificó en el fuego a sus hijos en el valle de Ben Hinón, practicó la magia, la hechicería y la adivinación, y consultó a nigromantes y a espiritistas. Hizo continuamente lo que ofende al Señor, provocando así su ira.
2 Crónicas 33:7 - Tomó la imagen del ídolo que había hecho y lo puso en el templo de Dios, lugar del cual Dios había dicho a David y a su hijo Salomón: «En este templo en Jerusalén, la ciudad que he escogido de entre todas las tribus de Israel, habitaré para siempre.
2 Crónicas 33:8 - Nunca más arrojaré a los israelitas de la tierra en que establecí a sus antepasados, siempre y cuando tengan cuidado de cumplir todo lo que les he ordenado, es decir, toda la ley, los estatutos y los mandamientos que les di por medio de Moisés».
2 Crónicas 33:9 - Manasés descarrió a los habitantes de Judá y de Jerusalén, de modo que se condujeron peor que las naciones que el Señor destruyó al paso de los israelitas.
2 Crónicas 33:10 - El Señor les habló a Manasés y a su pueblo, pero no le hicieron caso.
2 Crónicas 34:3 - En el año octavo de su reinado, siendo aún muy joven, Josías comenzó a buscar al Dios de su antepasado David. En el año duodécimo empezó a purificar a Judá y a Jerusalén, quitando los santuarios paganos, las imágenes de la diosa Aserá, y los ídolos y las imágenes de metal fundido.
2 Crónicas 34:4 - En su presencia fueron destruidos los altares de los baales y los altares sobre los que se quemaba incienso; también fueron despedazadas las imágenes para el culto a Aserá, y los ídolos y las imágenes de metal fundido fueron reducidos a polvo, el cual fue esparcido sobre las tumbas de los que les habían ofrecido sacrificios.
