  • 2 Chronicles 6:27 - then hear from heaven and forgive the sins of your servants, your people Israel. Teach them to follow the right path, and send rain on your land that you have given to your people as their special possession.
  • Micah 4:2 - People from many nations will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of Jacob’s God. There he will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his paths.” For the Lord’s teaching will go out from Zion; his word will go out from Jerusalem.
  • 1 Kings 18:27 - About noontime Elijah began mocking them. “You’ll have to shout louder,” he scoffed, “for surely he is a god! Perhaps he is daydreaming, or is relieving himself. Or maybe he is away on a trip, or is asleep and needs to be wakened!”
  • 1 Kings 18:28 - So they shouted louder, and following their normal custom, they cut themselves with knives and swords until the blood gushed out.
  • 1 Kings 18:29 - They raved all afternoon until the time of the evening sacrifice, but still there was no sound, no reply, no response.
  • 1 Kings 18:30 - Then Elijah called to the people, “Come over here!” They all crowded around him as he repaired the altar of the Lord that had been torn down.
  • 1 Kings 18:31 - He took twelve stones, one to represent each of the tribes of Israel,
  • 1 Kings 18:32 - and he used the stones to rebuild the altar in the name of the Lord. Then he dug a trench around the altar large enough to hold about three gallons.
  • 1 Kings 18:33 - He piled wood on the altar, cut the bull into pieces, and laid the pieces on the wood. Then he said, “Fill four large jars with water, and pour the water over the offering and the wood.”
  • 1 Kings 18:34 - After they had done this, he said, “Do the same thing again!” And when they were finished, he said, “Now do it a third time!” So they did as he said,
  • 1 Kings 18:35 - and the water ran around the altar and even filled the trench.
  • 1 Kings 18:36 - At the usual time for offering the evening sacrifice, Elijah the prophet walked up to the altar and prayed, “O Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, prove today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant. Prove that I have done all this at your command.
  • 1 Kings 18:37 - O Lord, answer me! Answer me so these people will know that you, O Lord, are God and that you have brought them back to yourself.”
  • 1 Kings 18:38 - Immediately the fire of the Lord flashed down from heaven and burned up the young bull, the wood, the stones, and the dust. It even licked up all the water in the trench!
  • 1 Kings 18:39 - And when all the people saw it, they fell face down on the ground and cried out, “The Lord—he is God! Yes, the Lord is God!”
  • 1 Kings 18:40 - Then Elijah commanded, “Seize all the prophets of Baal. Don’t let a single one escape!” So the people seized them all, and Elijah took them down to the Kishon Valley and killed them there.
  • James 5:17 - Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years!
  • James 5:18 - Then, when he prayed again, the sky sent down rain and the earth began to yield its crops.
  • Psalms 25:12 - Who are those who fear the Lord? He will show them the path they should choose.

  • Psalms 86:11 - Teach me your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you.
  • Psalms 94:12 - Joyful are those you discipline, Lord, those you teach with your instructions.
  • Jeremiah 14:22 - Can any of the worthless foreign gods send us rain? Does it fall from the sky by itself? No, you are the one, O Lord our God! Only you can do such things. So we will wait for you to help us.
  • 1 Kings 18:1 - Later on, in the third year of the drought, the Lord said to Elijah, “Go and present yourself to King Ahab. Tell him that I will soon send rain!”
  • 1 Kings 18:45 - And soon the sky was black with clouds. A heavy wind brought a terrific rainstorm, and Ahab left quickly for Jezreel.
  • Psalms 25:4 - Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow.
  • Psalms 25:5 - Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.
  • Jeremiah 6:16 - This is what the Lord says: “Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls. But you reply, ‘No, that’s not the road we want!’
  • Psalms 27:11 - Teach me how to live, O Lord. Lead me along the right path, for my enemies are waiting for me.
  • 1 Samuel 12:23 - “As for me, I will certainly not sin against the Lord by ending my prayers for you. And I will continue to teach you what is good and right.
