1How joyful is the one

whose transgression is forgiven,

whose sin is covered! Ps 85:2

2How joyful is the man

the Lord does not charge with sin Rm 4:7-8

and in whose spirit is no deceit! Jn 1:47

3When I kept silent, my bones became brittle

from my groaning all day long. Ps 31:10; 38:8

4For day and night Your hand was heavy on me; Jb 23:2; Ps 38:2

my strength was drained Hb obscure

as in the summer’s heat. Ps 22:15; 39:10Selah

5Then I acknowledged my sin to You

and did not conceal my iniquity.

I said,

“I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”

and You took away the guilt of my sin. Lv 26:40; Ps 38:18; Pr 28:13; 1Jn 1:9Selah

6Therefore let everyone who is faithful pray to You

at a time that You may be found. Lit time of finding Is 55:6

When great floodwaters come,

they will not reach him. Ps 124:4-5; Is 43:2

7You are my hiding place; Ps 31:20; 91:1

You protect me from trouble. Ps 121:7

You surround me with joyful shouts of deliverance.Selah

8I will instruct you and show you the way to go; Ps 25:8,12

with My eye on you, I will give counsel. Ps 33:18; 73:24

9Do not be like a horse or mule,

without understanding,

that must be controlled with bit and bridle

or else it will not come near you. Pr 26:3; Jms 3:3

10Many pains come to the wicked, Pr 13:21; Rm 2:9

but the one who trusts in the Lord

will have faithful love surrounding him. Ps 5:12

11Be glad in the Lord and rejoice,

you righteous ones;

shout for joy,

all you upright in heart. Ps 64:10; 68:3; 97:12
