Psalm 105
God’s Faithfulness to His People
1Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name;
2Sing to him, sing praise to him;
tell about all his wondrous works!105:2 Ps 96:3
3Boast in his holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.105:3 Ps 33:21
4Seek the Lord and his strength;
5Remember the wondrous works he has done,
his wonders, and the judgments he has pronounced,105:5 Lit judgments of his mouth105:5 Ps 77:11; 119:13
6you offspring of Abraham his servant,
Jacob’s descendants — his chosen ones.105:6 Ps 135:4
7He is the Lord our God;
his judgments govern the whole earth.105:7 Is 26:9
8He remembers his covenant forever,
the promise he ordained
9the covenant he made with Abraham,
10and confirmed to Jacob as a decree
and to Israel as a permanent covenant:105:10 Gn 28:13–15
11“I will give the land of Canaan to you
12When they were few in number,
very few indeed,
13wandering from nation to nation
and from one kingdom to another,105:13 Dt 26:5
14he allowed no one to oppress them;
or harm my prophets.”105:1–15 1Ch 16:8–22
16He called down famine against the land
17He had sent a man ahead of them —

18They hurt his feet with shackles;

19Until the time his prediction came true,

20The king sent for him and released him;

21He made him master of his household,

23Then Israel went to Egypt;

27They performed his miraculous signs among them

29He turned their water into blood

32He gave them hail for rain,

33He struck their vines and fig trees
and shattered the trees of their territory.105:33 Ps 78:47
34He spoke, and locusts came —
young locusts without number.
35They devoured all the vegetation in their land
and consumed the produce of their land.105:34–35 Ex 10:12–15
36He struck all the firstborn in their land,
37Then he brought Israel out with silver and gold,
and no one among his tribes stumbled.105:37 Ex 12:35–36
38Egypt was glad when they left,
39He spread a cloud as a covering
40They asked, and he brought quail
41He opened a rock, and water gushed out;
42For he remembered his holy promise
to Abraham his servant.105:42 Ex 2:24
43He brought his people out with rejoicing,
44He gave them the lands of the nations,
and they inherited
45All this happened
so that they might keep his statutes
