我告斯民曰、爾當寅畏我躬、承我教誨、則不降罰、絶爾居所、然爾惟惡是作、靡有已時、

我说：你只要敬畏我，领受训诲；如此，你的住处不致照我所拟定的除灭。只是你们从早起来，就在一切事上败坏自己。”

我说：‘只要你敬畏我，领受训诲；其住处就不会照我原先所定的被剪除。’然而，他们从早起来就在各样事上败坏自己。

我諭斯民曰、爾當敬畏我、承受教誨、則在我降諸罰之際、爾之居所尚不致絕、則在我降諸罰之際爾之居所尚不致絕或作如此爾之居宅不致於循我所欲降之罰而毀滅然於凡所為、惟惡是務、惟惡是務或作仍殷勤自敗自壞

Of Jerusalem I thought,‘ Surely you will fear me and accept correction!’ Then her place of refuge would not be destroyed, nor all my punishments come upon her. But they were still eager to act corruptly in all they did.

Here is what I thought about Jerusalem.‘ Surely you will have respect for me. Surely you will accept my warning.’ Then the city you think is safe would not be destroyed. And I would not have to punish you so much. But they still wanted to go on sinning in every way they could.

I said,‘ Surely you will fear me; you will accept correction. Then your dwelling would not be cut off according to all that I have appointed against you.’ But all the more they were eager to make all their deeds corrupt.

I thought,‘ Surely they will have reverence for me now! Surely they will listen to my warnings. Then I won’t need to strike again, destroying their homes.’ But no, they get up early to continue their evil deeds.

I said: You will certainly fear me and accept correction. Then her dwelling place would not be cut off based on all that I had allocated to her. However, they became more corrupt in all their actions.

I said,‘ You will certainly revere Me, You will accept discipline.’ So her dwelling will not be eliminated In accordance with everything that I have stipulated for her. Instead, they were eager to corrupt all their deeds.

I said,‘ Surely you will fear Me, You will receive instruction’— So that her dwelling would not be cut off, Despite everything for which I punished her. But they rose early and corrupted all their deeds.

I said, Only fear thou me; receive correction; so her dwelling shall not be cut off, according to all that I have appointed concerning her: but they rose early and corrupted all their doings.

I thought: You will certainly fear Me and accept correction. Then her dwelling place would not be cut off based on all that I had allocated to her. However, they became more corrupt in all their actions.

I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive instruction; so their dwelling should not be cut off, howsoever I punished them: but they rose early,[ and] corrupted all their doings.

I thought,‘ Certainly you will respect me! Now you will accept correction!’ If she had done so, her home would not be destroyed by all the punishments I have threatened. But they eagerly sinned in everything they did.

I said,“ Just fear me. Receive correction, so that her dwelling won’t be cut off, according to all that I have appointed concerning her.” But they rose early and corrupted all their doings.

昔在其庇亞民犯罪戾、今陷惡尤深、主念其罪、必降以罰、

庶幾猶大人民、聞我降災、改厥惡行、望我赦宥。

則昔我所錫爾祖之地、以為永業者、今必俾爾安居。

先知曰、凡爾有眾、當悛厥惡、革其非心、則可恆居於耶和華所賜爾祖及爾之地。

彼不從命令、不順誨言、彼之上帝耶和華、不是賴是求、

耶利米乃奏西底家曰、萬有之主、以色列族之上帝耶和華云、如爾出邑、歸誠巴比倫王牧伯、則爾一家生命可保、斯邑不遭焚燬。

我栽培此園、無以復加、冀結嘉實、乃生惡果、何也、

曰、今猶為爾日、及是時、而知關爾平安之事、則幸、過此、隱於爾目矣、日至、敵必築壘環繞、四面困爾、夷爾及赤子、不遺石於石上、以爾不知眷顧之日也、○

則繼大闢為王、乘車服馬、與厥諸僕、及猶大耶路撒冷居民、俱入邑門、此邑永存。自猶大諸邑、耶路撒冷四周、及便雅憫地、或山岡、或平原、或南方、人將至、攜燔祭禮物、芬芳之品、入我殿宇、揄揚我名。如爾不聽、不以安息日為聖日、仍於安息日負荷入耶路撒冷邑門、則我必火焚邑門、延及宮殿、無人撲滅。

埃及王尼哥廢之、責民貢銀十五萬兩、金一千五百兩、放王於埃及、立其弟以利亞金、治猶大耶路撒冷、易名曰約雅金。年二十有五即位、都耶路撒冷、凡十一年、行惡於上帝耶和華前。巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒攻之、繫以鐵索、解至巴比倫、取耶和華殿之器皿、徙至國中、置於其殿。約雅金事實、及其所為不道、備載於以色列猶大列王之紀畧。子約雅斤繼位、年僅八齡即位、都耶路撒冷、凡十旬、行惡於耶和華前。歲暮尼布甲尼撒王遣使臣、取王至巴比倫、虜耶和華殿之珍器、立約雅斤叔西底家、治猶大耶路撒冷、

恐壞爾心術、雕刻偶像、或似男女、作像像之、

猶大族棄列祖之上帝耶和華、故哩馬利子比迦、於一日間、殺其壯士十二萬人。以法蓮之傑士色哩、弒王子馬西雅、王之家宰押利甘、二王以利迦拿。以色列族擄同宗、與其妻孥、二十萬人、得輜重甚多、歸撒馬利亞。

斯民偃息在床、猶謀不軌、迨至黎明、凡力可以勝、則無不為、其禍必不遠矣。彼貪人田廬、而強據之、人與第宅、及凡所有、俱遭暴虐、

我傾耳諦聽、人無正直之言、無悔罪之心、而內自訟焉、彼疾行其道、若馬之臨陳馳驅。

主既言矣、必不遲行、人視主為濡滯、主實寛我、欲人悔改、不欲人沉淪、

上帝乃鑒觀斯世、億兆喪心、行為邪僻。

蓋耶和華以斯民為赤子、不敢違逆、故耶和華為其救主。

故使亞述王軍長攻之、執馬拿西、擊以鐵索、解至巴比倫、

厥後亞述王西拿基立侵猶大、圍諸城、將陷。希西家知其將至、欲攻耶路撒冷、
