是日我將震怒、人民遭難、荒蕪傾圯、幽深玄遠、杳冥晦暗、

是日為震怒之日、患難艱苦之日、拆毀傾覆拆毀傾覆或作荒蕪傾圮之日、幽暗晦冥之日、密雲黑雲之日、

At that time I will pour out my anger. There will be great suffering and pain. It will be a day of horrible trouble. It will be a time of darkness and gloom. It will be filled with the blackest clouds.

A day of wrath is that day, a day of distress and anguish, a day of ruin and devastation, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and thick darkness,

The Lord, the Lord Almighty, has a day of tumult and trampling and terror in the Valley of Vision, a day of battering down walls and of crying out to the mountains.

Woe to you who long for the day of the Lord! Why do you long for the day of the Lord? That day will be darkness, not light.It will be as though a man fled from a lion only to meet a bear, as though he entered his house and rested his hand on the wall only to have a snake bite him.Will not the day of the Lord be darkness, not light— pitch-dark, without a ray of brightness?

For this is the time of punishment in fulfillment of all that has been written.How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people.

That day— may it turn to darkness; may God above not care about it; may no light shine on it.May gloom and utter darkness claim it once more; may a cloud settle over it; may blackness overwhelm it.That night— may thick darkness seize it; may it not be included among the days of the year nor be entered in any of the months.May that night be barren; may no shout of joy be heard in it.May those who curse days curse that day, those who are ready to rouse Leviathan.

How awful that day will be! No other will be like it. It will be a time of trouble for Jacob, but he will be saved out of it.

But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed.

For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can withstand it?”

By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.
