Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

“ City of Zion, be full of joy! People of Jerusalem, shout! See, your king comes to you. He always does what is right. He has won the victory. He is humble and riding on a donkey. He is sitting on a donkey’s colt.

Rejoice, O people of Zion! Shout in triumph, O people of Jerusalem! Look, your king is coming to you. He is righteous and victorious, yet he is humble, riding on a donkey— riding on a donkey’s colt.

Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout in triumph, Daughter Jerusalem! Look, your King is coming to you; he is righteous and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

Sing aloud, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel! Rejoice and exult with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem!The Lord has taken away the judgments against you; he has cleared away your enemies. The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst; you shall never again fear evil.

This took place to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet, saying,“ Say to the daughter of Zion,‘ Behold, your king is coming to you, humble, and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.’”The disciples went and did as Jesus had directed them.They brought the donkey and the colt and put on them their cloaks, and he sat on them.

“ Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called:‘ The Lord is our righteousness.’

Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion, for behold, I come and I will dwell in your midst, declares the Lord.

So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out,“ Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!”And Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written,“ Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt!”His disciples did not understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written about him and had been done to him.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

I, I am the Lord, and besides me there is no savior.

Go on up to a high mountain, O Zion, herald of good news; lift up your voice with strength, O Jerusalem, herald of good news; lift it up, fear not; say to the cities of Judah,“ Behold your God!”

For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I give Egypt as your ransom, Cush and Seba in exchange for you.

Behold, the Lord has proclaimed to the end of the earth: Say to the daughter of Zion,“ Behold, your salvation comes; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.”

Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

As he was drawing near— already on the way down the Mount of Olives— the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen,saying,“ Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

“ As for me, I have set my King on Zion, my holy hill.”

Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of uprightness;you have loved righteousness and hated wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions;

Shout, and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.”

My heart overflows with a pleasing theme; I address my verses to the king; my tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe.

And those who went before and those who followed were shouting,“ Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David! Hosanna in the highest!”

Declare and present your case; let them take counsel together! Who told this long ago? Who declared it of old? Was it not I, the Lord? And there is no other god besides me, a righteous God and a Savior; there is none besides me.

And they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks on it, and he sat on it.

Behold, a king will reign in righteousness, and princes will rule in justice.Each will be like a hiding place from the wind, a shelter from the storm, like streams of water in a dry place, like the shade of a great rock in a weary land.

The heavens proclaim his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory.All worshipers of images are put to shame, who make their boast in worthless idols; worship him, all you gods!Zion hears and is glad, and the daughters of Judah rejoice, because of your judgments, O Lord.

Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, that glory may dwell in our land.Steadfast love and faithfulness meet; righteousness and peace kiss each other.Faithfulness springs up from the ground, and righteousness looks down from the sky.Yes, the Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase.

saying,“ Go into the village in front of you, where on entering you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever yet sat. Untie it and bring it here.If anyone asks you,‘ Why are you untying it?’ you shall say this:‘ The Lord has need of it.’”So those who were sent went away and found it just as he had told them.And as they were untying the colt, its owners said to them,“ Why are you untying the colt?”And they said,“ The Lord has need of it.”And they brought it to Jesus, and throwing their cloaks on the colt, they set Jesus on it.

But they shall serve the Lord their God and David their king, whom I will raise up for them.

Break forth together into singing, you waste places of Jerusalem, for the Lord has comforted his people; he has redeemed Jerusalem.The Lord has bared his holy arm before the eyes of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

The Lord says to my Lord:“ Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.”The Lord sends forth from Zion your mighty scepter. Rule in the midst of your enemies!Your people will offer themselves freely on the day of your power, in holy garments; from the womb of the morning, the dew of your youth will be yours.The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind,“ You are a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.”

She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”

Nathanael answered him,“ Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!”

and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins.It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

They cried out,“ Away with him, away with him, crucify him!” Pilate said to them,“ Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered,“ We have no king but Caesar.”
