這些話語難道不是耶和華藉著先前的眾先知所宣告的嗎？那時，耶路撒冷和四圍的各城都有人居住，並且很安穩，南地和高地也有人居住。』」

昔耶路撒冷及四圍之邑、尚有居民享平康、南方與平原平原或作窪地尚有人居、此言主豈未曾藉古先知宣告於眾乎、

Are these not the words the Lord proclaimed through the earlier prophets when Jerusalem and its surrounding towns were at rest and prosperous, and the Negev and the western foothills were settled?’”

Didn’t I tell you the same thing through the earlier prophets? That was when Jerusalem and the towns around it were at rest and enjoyed success. People lived in the Negev Desert and the western hills at that time.’ ”

Were not these the words that the Lord proclaimed by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and prosperous, with her cities around her, and the South and the lowland were inhabited?’”

Isn’t this the same message the Lord proclaimed through the prophets in years past when Jerusalem and the towns of Judah were bustling with people, and the Negev and the foothills of Judah were well populated?’”

Aren’t these the words that the LORD proclaimed through the earlier prophets when Jerusalem was inhabited and secure, along with its surrounding cities, and when the southern region and the Judean foothills were inhabited?”

Are these not the words which the Lord proclaimed by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and carefree along with its cities around it, and the Negev and the foothills were inhabited?’ ”

Should ye not hear the words which Jehovah cried by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about her, and the South and the lowland were inhabited?

Aren’t these the words that the Lord proclaimed through the earlier prophets when Jerusalem was inhabited and secure, along with its surrounding cities, and when the southern region and the Judean foothills were inhabited?”

[ Should ye] not[ hear] the words which the LORD hath cried by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about her, when[ men] inhabited the south and the plain?

Should you not have obeyed the words that the LORD cried out through the former prophets when Jerusalem was peacefully inhabited and her surrounding cities, the Negev, and the Shephelah were also populated?

Aren’t these the words which Yahweh proclaimed by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and its cities around her, and the South and the lowland were inhabited?’”

And they shall come from the cities of Judah and from the places around Jerusalem, from the land of Benjamin and from the lowland, from the mountains and from the South, bringing burnt offerings and sacrifices, grain offerings and incense, bringing sacrifices of praise to the house of the Lord.

“ Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil,Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow.“ Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord,“ Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;But if you refuse and rebel, You shall be devoured by the sword”; For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.

Men will buy fields for money, sign deeds and seal them, and take witnesses, in the land of Benjamin, in the places around Jerusalem, in the cities of Judah, in the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the lowland, and in the cities of the South; for I will cause their captives to return,’ says the Lord.”

But this is what I commanded them, saying,‘ Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.’

“ For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, if you thoroughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbor,

the South, and the plain of the Valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, as far as Zoar.

Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.

Gather yourselves together, yes, gather together, O undesirable nation,Before the decree is issued, Or the day passes like chaff, Before the LORD’s fierce anger comes upon you, Before the day of the LORD’s anger comes upon you!Seek the Lord, all you meek of the earth, Who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden In the day of the LORD’s anger.

Neither have we heeded Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings and our princes, to our fathers and all the people of the land.O Lord, righteousness belongs to You, but to us shame of face, as it is this day— to the men of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and all Israel, those near and those far off in all the countries to which You have driven them, because of the unfaithfulness which they have committed against You.“ O Lord, to us belongs shame of face, to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, because we have sinned against You.To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against Him.We have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in His laws, which He set before us by His servants the prophets.Yes, all Israel has transgressed Your law, and has departed so as not to obey Your voice; therefore the curse and the oath written in the Law of Moses the servant of God have been poured out on us, because we have sinned against Him.And He has confirmed His words, which He spoke against us and against our judges who judged us, by bringing upon us a great disaster; for under the whole heaven such has never been done as what has been done to Jerusalem.“ As it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come upon us; yet we have not made our prayer before the Lord our God, that we might turn from our iniquities and understand Your truth.Therefore the Lord has kept the disaster in mind, and brought it upon us; for the Lord our God is righteous in all the works which He does, though we have not obeyed His voice.

“ Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways,” says the Lord GOD.“ Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin.Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Israel?For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord God.“ Therefore turn and live!”

O Israel, return to the Lord your God, For you have stumbled because of your iniquity;Take words with you, And return to the Lord. Say to Him,“ Take away all iniquity; Receive us graciously, For we will offer the sacrifices of our lips.Assyria shall not save us, We will not ride on horses, Nor will we say anymore to the work of our hands,‘ You are our gods.’ For in You the fatherless finds mercy.”

Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you— The sure mercies of David.

With what shall I come before the Lord, And bow myself before the High God? Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings, With calves a year old?Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, Ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?

Seek good and not evil, That you may live; So the Lord God of hosts will be with you, As you have spoken.Hate evil, love good; Establish justice in the gate. It may be that the Lord God of hosts Will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.

In the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the lowland, in the cities of the South, in the land of Benjamin, in the places around Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, the flocks shall again pass under the hands of him who counts them,’ says the Lord.

“ Take a scroll of a book and write on it all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel, against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah even to this day.It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the adversities which I purpose to bring upon them, that everyone may turn from his evil way, that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.”

I spoke to you in your prosperity, But you said,‘ I will not hear.’ This has been your manner from your youth, That you did not obey My voice.

Therefore say to them,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts:“ Return to Me,” says the Lord of hosts,“ and I will return to you,” says the Lord of hosts.“ Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets preached, saying,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts:“ Turn now from your evil ways and your evil deeds.”’ But they did not hear nor heed Me,” says the Lord.“ Your fathers, where are they? And the prophets, do they live forever?Yet surely My words and My statutes, Which I commanded My servants the prophets, Did they not overtake your fathers?“ So they returned and said:‘ Just as the Lord of hosts determined to do to us, According to our ways and according to our deeds, So He has dealt with us.’”’”
