謂萬軍之耶和華室中之祭司、與先知曰、我於五月間、仍當哭泣齋戒、循我歷年所行乎、

by asking the priests of the house of the Lord Almighty and the prophets,“ Should I mourn and fast in the fifth month, as I have done for so many years?”

They went to the prophets and priests at the Lord’ s temple. They asked them,“ Should we mourn and go without eating in the fifth month? That’s what we’ve done for many years.”

saying to the priests of the house of the Lord of hosts and the prophets,“ Should I weep and abstain in the fifth month, as I have done for so many years?”

They were to ask this question of the prophets and the priests at the Temple of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies:“ Should we continue to mourn and fast each summer on the anniversary of the Temple’s destruction, as we have done for so many years?”

by asking the priests who were at the house of the LORD of Armies as well as the prophets,“ Should we mourn and fast in the fifth month as we have done these many years?”

speaking to the priests who belong to the house of the Lord of armies, and to the prophets, saying,“ Shall I weep in the fifth month and fast, as I have done these many years?”

and to ask the priests who were in the house of the Lord of hosts, and the prophets, saying,“ Should I weep in the fifth month and fast as I have done for so many years?”

and to speak unto the priests of the house of Jehovah of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?

by asking the priests who were at the house of the Lord of Hosts as well as the prophets,“ Should we mourn and fast in the fifth month as we have done these many years?”

[ And] to speak unto the priests which[ were] in the house of the LORD of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?

by asking both the priests of the temple of the LORD WHO RULES OVER ALL and the prophets,“ Should we weep in the fifth month, fasting as we have done over the years?”

and to speak to the priests of the house of Yahweh of Armies, and to the prophets, saying,“ Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?”

萬軍之耶和華云、四月五月、七月十月、禁食之期、在猶大家、將為喜樂歡忭之期、欣悅之節、爾宜誠實和平是好、

祭司之脣、宜存智識、人當求法律於其口、以其為萬軍耶和華之使也、

近上帝、上帝則近爾、干罪者淨乃手、二心者潔乃心、宜負苦悲泣、易笑為哀、易樂為憂、自卑於主前、主則升爾、○

巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒十九年五月七日、其臣侍衛長尼布撒拉旦至耶路撒冷、燬耶和華室與王宮、及耶路撒冷諸屋、所有第宅、悉焚以火、

供役於耶和華之祭司、其哭於廊與壇之間、曰、耶和華歟、矜恤爾民、勿使爾業受辱、為列邦所轄、奚使諸國之人曰、彼之上帝安在乎、○

勿相負、惟彼此契合、暫務祈禱而相離、後仍相聚、免情不自禁、撒但因之試爾、

見利未人祭司、與在位之士師、而詢問之、彼必示爾如何判斷、在耶和華所選之處、凡其所示所教者、爾當遵行、彼所教之法律、所示之判斷、所諭之語言、爾必遵行、毋偏於左、毋偏於右、

其告斯土之民、及諸祭司曰、爾於五月七月、禁食哭泣、歷七十年、豈為我禁食乎、

斯土各家、必有悲哀、大衛家男女異室而居、拿單家男女異室而居、利未家男女異室而居、示每家男女異室而居、其餘之家、男女異室而居、

是日也、萬軍之主耶和華、詔人哭泣哀號、薙髮束麻、乃見欣喜歡忭、宰牛殺羊、食肉飲酒、曰、毋寧式飲式食、蓋明日死矣、

民聞律詞、咸哭、方伯尼希米、文士祭司以斯拉、與訓民之利未人、告之曰、今乃爾上帝耶和華之聖日、毋悲毋哭、又曰、往哉、食肥飲甘、無者頒之、此乃我主之聖日、毋憂戚、因耶和華而樂、是為爾之能力、利未人肅眾曰、今乃聖日、當靜默、毋憂戚、

萬軍之耶和華云、問法律於祭司曰、

耶穌曰、新娶者偕在、賀娶者豈能哀慟乎、惟日將至、新娶者見接而去、乃禁食耳、

哭有其時、笑有其時、哀有其時、舞有其時、

當教我民區別聖與不聖、潔與不潔、有訟事必審鞫、按我律而斷之、在我諸節期、必守我法律典章、亦守我安息日為聖、

是月二十四日、以色列族咸集、禁食、衣麻、蒙塵、與異邦人絕交、立而自認己罪、及列祖之愆、是日之時、四分之一立於其所、誦其上帝耶和華之律書、四分之一認罪、崇拜其上帝耶和華、

彼將以爾律例教雅各、以爾法律誨以色列、焚香於爾前、獻全牲燔祭於爾壇、

我民緣無知而見滅、爾棄知識、我亦棄爾、不容為我祭司、爾忘爾上帝法律、我亦忘爾子、
