耶和華宣告：『你們不要像你們的祖先！先前的眾先知呼喚他們，說：「萬軍之耶和華如此說：現在你們要回轉離開自己邪惡的道路和邪惡的行為！」他們卻不聽從，也不留心聽我的話。

既然我呼喚了，你們拒絕，我伸出了手，沒有人留心，你們忽視了我一切的勸告，也沒有接受我的責備；那麼，你們遭難時，我就譏笑；你們的恐懼臨到時，我就嘲笑——那時，恐懼像風暴那樣臨到，災難像旋風那樣來臨，患難和困苦臨到你們身上。那時，他們將呼求我，我卻不回應；他們將切切尋找我，卻找不到。正是因為他們恨惡知識，沒有選擇敬畏耶和華，沒有接受我的勸告，藐視了我一切的責備，所以他們將吃盡自己行為的果實，飽嘗自己計謀的後果。要知道，無知人的背道將害死自己，愚昧人的安樂將毀了自己；

如果你們願意聽從，就必吃地上的美物；但如果你們拒絕、悖逆，就必被刀劍吞噬。」這是耶和華親口說的。

你們要當心，不要拒絕向你們說話的那一位。要知道，那些拒絕了在地上警告他們的，尚且無法逃脫懲罰，更何況我們背棄從天上警告我們的那一位呢！

他們的毒液好像蛇的毒液，他們如同耳聾的毒蛇，耳朵封閉了，不聽行法術者的聲音，也不聽熟練念咒人的聲音。

我的義人將因信而活；如果他退縮，我的心就不喜悅他。」然而，我們不是退縮以致滅亡的人，而是有信仰以致保全靈魂的人。

「你們這些頑固不化、心和耳都未受割禮的人哪，你們總是抗拒聖靈！你們的祖先怎樣，你們也怎樣。

讓這子民的心麻木，耳朵發沉，眼睛蒙蔽，免得他們眼睛看見，耳朵聽見，心裡領悟，回轉過來，就得痊癒。」

我們犯了罪，行事扭曲，作惡背叛，偏離了你的誡命和法規，

於是他們大聲喊叫，摀著耳朵，一齊向他衝過去，
