犹太人的长老因哈该先知和易多的孙子撒迦利亚的预言，就建造这殿，凡事顺利。他们遵照以色列神的命令和波斯王居鲁士、大流士、亚达薛西的谕旨，建造完毕。大流士王第六年，亚达月初三，这殿完工了。

于是那位设巴萨来建立耶路撒冷神殿的根基。但从那时直到如今，这殿尚未修建完毕。’

对他说，万军之耶和华如此说：‘看哪，那名称为大卫苗裔的，要在本处生长，并要建造耶和华的殿。就是他，要建造耶和华的殿，他要承受尊荣，坐在位上掌王权；又有一位祭司坐在自己的位上，两职之间筹划和平。

他们到了耶路撒冷神殿的第二年，二月的时候，撒拉铁的儿子所罗巴伯，约萨达的儿子耶书亚和其余的弟兄，就是祭司和利未人，以及所有被掳归回耶路撒冷的人，就开工建造；他们派二十岁以上的利未人，监督建造耶和华殿的工作。于是何达威雅的后裔，就是耶书亚和他的子孙与弟兄、甲篾和他的子孙，他们和利未人希拿达的子孙与弟兄，都起来如同一人，监督那些在神殿里做工的人。工匠立耶和华殿根基的时候，祭司穿礼服吹号，利未人亚萨的子孙敲钹，都照以色列王大卫亲手所定的，站着赞美耶和华。他们彼此唱和，赞美称谢耶和华：“他本为善，他向以色列永施慈爱。”他们赞美耶和华的时候，众百姓大声呼喊，因为耶和华殿的根基已经立定。然而有许多祭司、利未人和族长，就是见过先前那殿的老年人，现在亲眼看见这殿立了根基，就大声哭号，也有许多人大声欢呼，百姓不能分辨欢呼的声音或哭号的声音，因为百姓大声呼喊，声音连远处都可听到。

使他们都合而为一。正如父你在我里面，我在你里面，使他们也在我们里面，好让世人信是你差我来的。

但我有比约翰更大的见证：父交给我去完成的工作，就是我正在做的，为我作证是父差遣了我。那差我来的父也为我作了见证。你们从来没有听见他的声音，也没有看见他的形像。

因为神差他的儿子到世上来，不是要定世人的罪，而是要使世人因他得救。

万军之耶和华在显出荣耀之后，差遣我到掳掠你们的列国那里，他如此说：“碰你们的就是碰他自己眼中的瞳人。看哪，我要挥手攻击他们，他们就必作自己奴仆的掳物。”你们就知道万军之耶和华差遣了我。

在那日，必有许多国家归附耶和华，作我的子民。我要住在你中间。”你就知道万军之耶和华差遣我到你那里去。

即使我判断人，我的判断也是真确的，因为不是我独自在判断，而是差我来的父与我一同判断。你们的律法也记着说：‘两个人的见证才算为真’。我是为自己作见证，还有差我来的父也为我作见证。”

仰望我们信心的创始成终者耶稣，他因那摆在前面的喜乐，轻看羞辱，忍受了十字架的苦难，如今已坐在神宝座的右边。

你们要接近我来听这话，我从起初就未曾在隐密之处说话，万事之始，我就在那里。”现在，主耶和华差遣了我，带着他的灵而来。

我还告诉你，你是彼得，我要把我的教会建造在这磐石上，阴间的权柄不能胜过它。

远方的人要来建造耶和华的殿，你们因此就知道，万军之耶和华差遣我到你们这里来。你们若留意听从耶和华—你们神的话，这事必然成就。
