故耶和華云、我以矜憫而返耶路撒冷、我室必建其中、引繩於耶路撒冷、萬軍之耶和華言之矣、

故我耶和華復臨耶路撒冷、而矜憫之、以繩量度、建我殿於其中、我萬有之主耶和華已言之矣。

故主如是云、我必施矜憫、復臨耶路撒冷、或作故主如是云我必復施矜憫歸耶路撒冷我之殿必復建在其中、必復用準繩、建築耶路撒冷之城垣、此乃萬有之主所言、

“ Therefore this is what the Lord says:‘ I will return to Jerusalem with mercy, and there my house will be rebuilt. And the measuring line will be stretched out over Jerusalem,’ declares the Lord Almighty.

“‘ So the Lord says,“ I will return to Jerusalem. I will show its people my tender love. My temple will be rebuilt there. Workers will use a measuring line when they rebuild Jerusalem,” announces the Lord.

Therefore, thus says the Lord, I have returned to Jerusalem with mercy; my house shall be built in it, declares the Lord of hosts, and the measuring line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem.

“‘ Therefore, this is what the Lord says: I have returned to show mercy to Jerusalem. My Temple will be rebuilt, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, and measurements will be taken for the reconstruction of Jerusalem.’

Therefore, this is what the LORD says: In mercy, I have returned to Jerusalem; my house will be rebuilt within it— this is the declaration of the LORD of Armies— and a measuring line will be stretched out over Jerusalem.

Therefore the Lord says this:“ I will return to Jerusalem with compassion; My house will be built in it,” declares the Lord of armies,“ and a measuring line will be stretched over Jerusalem.” ’

‘ Therefore thus says the Lord:“ I am returning to Jerusalem with mercy; My house shall be built in it,” says the Lord of hosts,“ And a surveyor’s line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem.”’

Therefore thus saith Jehovah: I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies; my house shall be built in it, saith Jehovah of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth over Jerusalem.

“‘ Therefore,’ says the LORD,‘ I have become compassionate toward Jerusalem and will rebuild my temple in it,’ says the LORD who rules over all.‘ Once more a surveyor’s measuring line will be stretched out over Jerusalem.’

Therefore Yahweh says:“ I have returned to Jerusalem with mercy. My house shall be built in it,” says Yahweh of Armies,“ and a line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem.”’

This is what the Lord says:“ I will return to Zion and dwell in Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the Faithful City, and the mountain of the Lord Almighty will be called the Holy Mountain.” (niv)

“ Shout and be glad, Daughter Zion. For I am coming, and I will live among you,” declares the Lord.“ Many nations will be joined with the Lord in that day and will become my people. I will live among you and you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you. (niv)

In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you,” says the Lord your Redeemer.“ To me this is like the days of Noah, when I swore that the waters of Noah would never again cover the earth. So now I have sworn not to be angry with you, never to rebuke you again.Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you. (niv)

“ The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this temple; his hands will also complete it. Then you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you. (niv)

So the elders of the Jews continued to build and prosper under the preaching of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah, a descendant of Iddo. They finished building the temple according to the command of the God of Israel and the decrees of Cyrus, Darius and Artaxerxes, kings of Persia.The temple was completed on the third day of the month Adar, in the sixth year of the reign of King Darius. As the man went eastward with a measuring line in his hand, he measured off a thousand cubits and then led me through water that was ankle-deep. (niv)

He took me there, and I saw a man whose appearance was like bronze; he was standing in the gateway with a linen cord and a measuring rod in his hand. (niv)

Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? (niv)

“ Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will now restore the fortunes of Jacob and will have compassion on all the people of Israel, and I will be zealous for my holy name.They will forget their shame and all the unfaithfulness they showed toward me when they lived in safety in their land with no one to make them afraid.When I have brought them back from the nations and have gathered them from the countries of their enemies, I will be proved holy through them in the sight of many nations.Then they will know that I am the Lord their God, for though I sent them into exile among the nations, I will gather them to their own land, not leaving any behind.I will no longer hide my face from them, for I will pour out my Spirit on the people of Israel, declares the Sovereign Lord.” (niv)

In that day you will say:“ I will praise you, Lord. Although you were angry with me, your anger has turned away and you have comforted me. (niv)

“ The distance all around will be 18,000 cubits.“ And the name of the city from that time on will be: the Lord is there.” (niv)

who carries out the words of his servants and fulfills the predictions of his messengers, who says of Jerusalem,‘ It shall be inhabited,’ of the towns of Judah,‘ They shall be rebuilt,’ and of their ruins,‘ I will restore them,’who says to the watery deep,‘ Be dry, and I will dry up your streams,’who says of Cyrus,‘ He is my shepherd and will accomplish all that I please; he will say of Jerusalem,“ Let it be rebuilt,” and of the temple,“ Let its foundations be laid.”’ (niv)

The measuring line will stretch from there straight to the hill of Gareb and then turn to Goah.The whole valley where dead bodies and ashes are thrown, and all the terraces out to the Kidron Valley on the east as far as the corner of the Horse Gate, will be holy to the Lord. The city will never again be uprooted or demolished.” (niv)

How long will you wander, unfaithful Daughter Israel? The Lord will create a new thing on earth— the woman will return to the man.”This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says:“ When I bring them back from captivity, the people in the land of Judah and in its towns will once again use these words:‘ The Lord bless you, you prosperous city, you sacred mountain.’People will live together in Judah and all its towns— farmers and those who move about with their flocks.I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.” (niv)

The desert owl and screech owl will possess it; the great owl and the raven will nest there. God will stretch out over Edom the measuring line of chaos and the plumb line of desolation. (niv)

“ This is what the Lord says:‘ You say about this place,“ It is a desolate waste, without people or animals.” Yet in the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem that are deserted, inhabited by neither people nor animals, there will be heard once morethe sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, and the voices of those who bring thank offerings to the house of the Lord, saying,“ Give thanks to the Lord Almighty, for the Lord is good; his love endures forever.” For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were before,’ says the Lord.“ This is what the Lord Almighty says:‘ In this place, desolate and without people or animals— in all its towns there will again be pastures for shepherds to rest their flocks. So the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua son of Jozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of the whole remnant of the people. They came and began to work on the house of the Lord Almighty, their God, (niv)
