使你們能試驗甚麼是美好的事，好成為純潔而無過失的人，以待基督的日子，

這不是說我們沒有權利，我們乃是要將自己給你們做榜樣，讓你們效法我們。

我們不像許多人為利而淆亂上帝之道；我們乃是出於純潔、乃是出於上帝、在基督裏當着上帝面前說話的。

凡愛我們主耶穌基督的人、願恩惠永與他們同在於不朽中！

我這不是當命令說的，我乃是要藉着別人的熱切來試驗你們的愛心是不是真的罷了。

我沒有貪圖過一個人的金銀或服裝。你們自己知道，我這兩隻手供應了我和我同伴的需用。我凡事給你們做榜樣，讓你們知道應當這樣勞苦、扶助軟弱的人，記念主耶穌的話；他自己說過：「給予比接受更為有福」』。
