在邑門之眾、與諸長老曰、我儕為證、願耶和華使適爾家之婦、如拉結利亞、肇造以色列家者、亦願爾稱豪於以法他、得名於伯利恆、

邑門長老與眾俱曰、我儕為證、昔拉結利亞傳嗣於以色列族、願耶和華使適爾家之婦亦若是、亦願爾於以法大得其財貨、於伯利恆播其聲名。

在邑門之眾民及長老曰、我儕為證、願主使入爾家之婦、如昔建立以色列家之拉結利亞二人、亦願爾在以法他居高位、居高位或作所行皆善在伯利恆揚聲名、

Then the elders and all the people at the gate said,“ We are witnesses. May the Lord make the woman who is coming into your home like Rachel and Leah, who together built up the family of Israel. May you have standing in Ephrathah and be famous in Bethlehem.

Then all the people who were at the gate and the elders said,“ We are witnesses. May the Lord make the woman, who is coming into your house, like Rachel and Leah, who together built up the house of Israel. May you act worthily in Ephrathah and be renowned in Bethlehem,

Then the elders and all the people standing in the gate replied,“ We are witnesses! May the Lord make this woman who is coming into your home like Rachel and Leah, from whom all the nation of Israel descended! May you prosper in Ephrathah and be famous in Bethlehem.

All the people who were at the city gate, including the elders, said,“ We are witnesses. May the LORD make the woman who is entering your house like Rachel and Leah, who together built the house of Israel. May you be powerful in Ephrathah and your name well known in Bethlehem.

And all the people who were in the court, and the elders, said,“ We are witnesses. May the Lord make the woman who is coming into your home like Rachel and Leah, both of whom built the house of Israel; and may you achieve wealth in Ephrathah and become famous in Bethlehem.

And all the people who were at the gate, and the elders, said,“ We are witnesses. The Lord make the woman who is coming to your house like Rachel and Leah, the two who built the house of Israel; and may you prosper in Ephrathah and be famous in Bethlehem.

The elders and all the people who were at the gate said,“ We are witnesses. May the Lord make the woman who is entering your house like Rachel and Leah, who together built the house of Israel. May you be powerful in Ephrathah and famous in Bethlehem.

And all the people that[ were] in the gate, and the elders, said,[ We are] witnesses. The LORD make the woman that is come into thine house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Bethlehem:

And Leah conceived, and bare a son, and she called his name Reuben; for she said, Because Jehovah hath looked upon my affliction; for now my husband will love me.And she conceived again, and bare a son: and said, Because Jehovah hath heard that I am hated, he hath therefore given me this son also: and she called his name Simeon.And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Now this time will my husband be joined unto me, because I have borne him three sons: therefore was his name called Levi.And she conceived again, and bare a son: and she said, This time will I praise Jehovah: therefore she called his name Judah; and she left off bearing.And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and she said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die.And Jacob’s anger was kindled against Rachel: and he said, Am I in God’s stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?And she said, Behold, my maid Bilhah, go in unto her; that she may bear upon my knees, and I also may obtain children by her.And she gave him Bilhah her handmaid to wife: and Jacob went in unto her.And Bilhah conceived, and bare Jacob a son.And Rachel said, God hath judged me, and hath also heard my voice, and hath given me a son: therefore called she his name Dan.And Bilhah Rachel’s handmaid conceived again, and bare Jacob a second son.And Rachel said, With mighty wrestlings have I wrestled with my sister, and have prevailed: and she called his name Naphtali.When Leah saw that she had left off bearing, she took Zilpah her handmaid, and gave her to Jacob to wife.And Zilpah Leah’s handmaid bare Jacob a son.And Leah said, Fortunate! and she called his name Gad.And Zilpah Leah’s handmaid bare Jacob a second son.And Leah said, Happy am I! for the daughters will call me happy: and she called his name Asher.And Reuben went in the days of wheat harvest, and found mandrakes in the field, and brought them unto his mother Leah. Then Rachel said to Leah, Give me, I pray thee, of thy son’s mandrakes.And she said unto her, Is it a small matter that thou hast taken away my husband? and wouldest thou take away my son’s mandrakes also? And Rachel said, Therefore he shall lie with thee to- night for thy son’s mandrakes.And Jacob came from the field in the evening, and Leah went out to meet him, and said, Thou must come in unto me; for I have surely hired thee with my son’s mandrakes. And he lay with her that night.And God hearkened unto Leah, and she conceived, and bare Jacob a fifth son.And Leah said, God hath given me my hire, because I gave my handmaid to my husband: and she called his name Issachar.And Leah conceived again, and bare a sixth son to Jacob.And Leah said, God hath endowed me with a good dowry; now will my husband dwell with me, because I have borne him six sons: and she called his name Zebulun.And afterwards she bare a daughter, and called her name Dinah.And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.And she conceived, and bare a son: and said, God hath taken away my reproach:and she called his name Joseph, saying, Jehovah add to me another son.

then shall his brother’s wife come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face; and she shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto the man that doth not build up his brother’s house.

And they journeyed from Beth- el; and there was still some distance to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labor.And it came to pass, when she was in hard labor, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; for now thou shalt have another son.And it came to pass, as her soul was departing( for she died), that she called his name Ben- oni: but his father called him Benjamin.And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath( the same is Beth- lehem).And Jacob set up a pillar upon her grave: the same is the Pillar of Rachel’s grave unto this day.

Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine, In the innermost parts of thy house; Thy children like olive plants, Round about thy table.Behold, thus shall the man be blessed That feareth Jehovah.Jehovah bless thee out of Zion: And see thou the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.Yea, see thou thy children’s children. Peace be upon Israel.

And thou Bethlehem, land of Judah, Art in no wise least among the princes of Judah: For out of thee shall come forth a governor, Who shall be shepherd of my people Israel.

But thou, Beth- lehem Ephrathah, which art little to be among the thousands of Judah, out of thee shall one come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.

Lo, children are a heritage of Jehovah; And the fruit of the womb is his reward.As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, So are the children of youth.Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: They shall not be put to shame, When they speak with their enemies in the gate.

Every wise woman buildeth her house; But the foolish plucketh it down with her own hands.

Lo, we heard of it in Ephrathah: We found it in the field of the wood.

And these are the names of the children of Israel, who came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob’s first- born.And the sons of Reuben: Hanoch, and Pallu, and Hezron, and Carmi.And the sons of Simeon: Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman.And the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.And the sons of Judah: Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Perez, and Zerah; but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul.And the sons of Issachar: Tola, and Puvah, and Iob, and Shimron.And the sons of Zebulun: Sered, and Elon, and Jahleel.These are the sons of Leah, whom she bare unto Jacob in Paddan- aram, with his daughter Dinah: all the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty and three.And the sons of Gad: Ziphion, and Haggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, Eri, and Arodi, and Areli.And the sons of Asher: Imnah, and Ishvah, and Ishvi, and Beriah, and Serah their sister; and the sons of Beriah: Heber, and Malchiel.These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter; and these she bare unto Jacob, even sixteen souls.The sons of Rachel Jacob’s wife: Joseph and Benjamin.And unto Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, whom Asenath, the daughter of Poti- phera priest of On, bare unto him.And the sons of Benjamin: Bela, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Ehi, and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard.These are the sons of Rachel, who were born to Jacob: all the souls were fourteen.And the sons of Dan: Hushim.And the sons of Naphtali: Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem.These are the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave unto Rachel his daughter, and these she bare unto Jacob: all the souls were seven.All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, that came out of his loins, besides Jacob’s sons’ wives, all the souls were threescore and six;and the sons of Joseph, who were born to him in Egypt, were two souls: all the souls of the house of Jacob, that came into Egypt, were threescore and ten.

And it came to pass after the plague, that Jehovah spake unto Moses and unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, by their fathers’ houses, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel.And Moses and Eleazar the priest spake with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,Take the sum of the people, from twenty years old and upward; as Jehovah commanded Moses and the children of Israel, that came forth out of the land of Egypt.Reuben, the first- born of Israel; the sons of Reuben: of Hanoch, the family of the Hanochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites;of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.These are the families of the Reubenites; and they that were numbered of them were forty and three thousand and seven hundred and thirty.And the sons of Pallu: Eliab.And the sons of Eliab: Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. These are that Dathan and Abiram, who were called of the congregation, who strove against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah, when they strove against Jehovah,and the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that company died; what time the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men, and they became a sign.Notwithstanding, the sons of Korah died not.The sons of Simeon after their families: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites; of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites; of Jachin, the family of the Jachinites;of Zerah, the family of the Zerahites; of Shaul, the family of the Shaulites.These are the families of the Simeonites, twenty and two thousand and two hundred.The sons of Gad after their families: of Zephon, the family of the Zephonites; of Haggi, the family of the Haggites; of Shuni, the family of the Shunites;of Ozni, the family of the Oznites; of Eri, the family of the Erites;of Arod, the family of the Arodites; of Areli, the family of the Arelites.These are the families of the sons of Gad according to those that were numbered of them, forty thousand and five hundred.The sons of Judah: Er and Onan; and Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.And the sons of Judah after their families were: of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites; of Perez, the family of the Perezites; of Zerah, the family of the Zerahites.And the sons of Perez were: of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Hamul, the family of the Hamulites.These are the families of Judah according to those that were numbered of them, threescore and sixteen thousand and five hundred.The sons of Issachar after their families: of Tola, the family of the Tolaites; of Puvah, the family of the Punites;of Jashub, the family of the Jashubites; of Shimron, the family of the Shimronites.These are the families of Issachar according to those that were numbered of them, threescore and four thousand and three hundred.The sons of Zebulun after their families: of Sered, the family of the Seredites; of Elon, the family of the Elonites; of Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites.These are the families of the Zebulunites according to those that were numbered of them, threescore thousand and five hundred.The sons of Joseph after their families: Manasseh and Ephraim.The sons of Manasseh: of Machir, the family of the Machirites; and Machir begat Gilead: of Gilead, the family of the Gileadites.These are the sons of Gilead: of Iezer, the family of the Iezerites; of Helek, the family of the Helekites;and of Asriel, the family of the Asrielites; and of Shechem, the family of the Shechemites;and of Shemida, the family of the Shemidaites; and of Hepher, the family of the Hepherites.And Zelophehad the son of Hepher had no sons, but daughters: and the names of the daughters of Zelophehad were Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.These are the families of Manasseh; and they that were numbered of them were fifty and two thousand and seven hundred.These are the sons of Ephraim after their families: of Shuthelah, the family of the Shuthelahites; of Becher, the family of the Becherites; of Tahan, the family of the Tahanites.And these are the sons of Shuthelah: of Eran, the family of the Eranites.These are the families of the sons of Ephraim according to those that were numbered of them, thirty and two thousand and five hundred. These are the families of Dan after their families.All the families of the Shuhamites, according to those that were numbered of them, were threescore and four thousand and four hundred.The sons of Asher after their families: of Imnah, the family of the Imnites; of Ishvi, the family of the Ishvites; of Beriah, the family of the Berites.Of the sons of Beriah: of Heber, the family of the Heberites; of Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites.And the name of the daughter of Asher was Serah.These are the families of the sons of Asher according to those that were numbered of them, fifty and three thousand and four hundred.The sons of Naphtali after their families: of Jahzeel, the family of the Jahzeelites; of Guni, the family of the Gunites;of Jezer, the family of the Jezerites; of Shillem, the family of the Shillemites.These are the families of Naphtali according to their families; and they that were numbered of them were forty and five thousand and four hundred.These are they that were numbered of the children of Israel, six hundred thousand and a thousand seven hundred and thirty.And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,Unto these the land shall be divided for an inheritance according to the number of names.To the more thou shalt give the more inheritance, and to the fewer thou shalt give the less inheritance: to every one according to those that were numbered of him shall his inheritance be given.Notwithstanding, the land shall be divided by lot: according to the names of the tribes of their fathers they shall inherit.According to the lot shall their inheritance be divided between the more and the fewer.And these are they that were numbered of the Levites after their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites; of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites; of Merari, the family of the Merarites.These are the families of Levi: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mahlites, the family of the Mushites, the family of the Korahites. And Kohath begat Amram.And the name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt: and she bare unto Amram Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister.And unto Aaron were born Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.And Nadab and Abihu died, when they offered strange fire before Jehovah.And they that were numbered of them were twenty and three thousand, every male from a month old and upward: for they were not numbered among the children of Israel, because there was no inheritance given them among the children of Israel.These are they that were numbered by Moses and Eleazar the priest, who numbered the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.But among these there was not a man of them that were numbered by Moses and Aaron the priest, who numbered the children of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.For Jehovah had said of them, They shall surely die in the wilderness. And there was not left a man of them, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

And the name of the man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife Naomi, and the name of his two sons Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Beth- lehem- judah. And they came into the country of Moab, and continued there.
