到那日，以色列所剩下的和雅各家所逃脱的，必不再倚靠那击打他们的，却要诚心仰赖耶和华—以色列的圣者。所剩下的，就是雅各家的余民，必归回全能的神。以色列啊，你的百姓虽多如海沙，惟有剩下的归回。灭绝之事已成定局，公义必如水涨溢。因为万军之主耶和华在全地必成就所定的灭绝之事。

但神的指示是怎么对他说的呢？他说：“我为自己留下七千人，是未曾向巴力屈膝的。”现在这时刻也是这样，照着出于恩典的拣选，还有所留的余数。既是靠恩典，就不凭行为，不然，恩典就不再是恩典了。

然而，以色列的人数必多如海沙，不可量，不可数。从前在什么地方对他们说“你们不是我的子民”，将来就在那里称他们为“永生神的儿子”。

你们要上去毁坏它的葡萄园，但不可毁坏净尽，只可除掉其枝子，因为不属耶和华。

我必多多赐福给你，我必使你的后裔大大增多，如同天上的星、海边的沙。你的后裔必得仇敌的城门，

若不是万军之耶和华为我们留下一些幸存者，我们早已变成所多玛，像蛾摩拉一样了。

“我必留下一些人，你们中有人得以在列国中脱离刀剑，分散在列邦。

当那日，主必再度伸手救回自己百姓中所剩余的，就是在亚述、埃及、巴特罗、古实、以拦、示拿、哈马，并众海岛所剩下的。

当乌西雅、约坦、亚哈斯、希西家作犹大王的时候，亚摩斯的儿子以赛亚见异象，论到犹大和耶路撒冷。

地上的万民正像打过的橄榄树，又如葡萄酿酒以后再去摘取，所剩无几。

我们岂可再违背你的诫命，与行这些可憎之事的民族结亲呢？若我们这样行，你岂不向我们发怒，将我们灭绝，以致没有一个余民或残存之民吗？

现在耶和华—我们的神暂且向我们施恩，为我们留下一些残存之民，使我们如钉子钉在他的圣所，让我们的神光照我们的眼目，使我们在受辖制之中稍微复兴。

因此，耶和华要将以色列人交给敌人，直到临产的妇人生下孩子；那时，他其余的弟兄必回到以色列人那里。他必倚靠耶和华的大能，倚靠耶和华—他神之名的威严，站立并牧养，使他们安然居住；因为现在他必尊大，直到地极。这位就是和平。当亚述侵入我们领土，践踏我们宫殿时，我们就立七个牧者，八个领袖攻击它。他们要用刀剑毁坏亚述地和宁录地的关口。当亚述侵入我们领土，践踏我们边境时，他必拯救我们。雅各的余民必在许多民族中，如从耶和华降下的露水，又如甘霖降在草上；他们不倚靠人，也不仰赖世人。雅各的余民必在列国中，在许多民族中，如林间百兽中的狮子，又如少壮狮子在羊群中；他若经过就必践踏撕裂，无人搭救。
