我们得救是在乎盼望；只是所见的盼望不是盼望，谁还盼望他所见的呢

夫我儕以望而得救、然既見之望、非望也、蓋既見之、孰猶望之乎、

蓋吾人之得救也、實有恃乎望德；然已見之望、非望也；夫人於目前之事、亦何所用其望乎？

For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have?

We were given this hope when we were saved.( If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it.

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. (niv)
