由此可见，丈夫还活着的时候，她如果归向别的男人，就被称为淫妇；但如果丈夫死了，她就脱离那律法得了自由，即使归向别的男人，也不是淫妇。

所以丈夫活着，她若歸於別人，便叫淫婦；丈夫若死了，她就脫離了丈夫的律法，雖然歸於別人，也不是淫婦。

是以夫在而他適者、謂之淫婦、夫死則見釋於律、雖他適不為淫、

夫在而他從、是謂淫婦、夫死則脫夫法、雖他從、不為淫、

夫在而從他人、是謂淫婦、夫死則釋於此法、雖從他人、不為淫婦、

其夫存而改適者、是謂不貞。若夫既死、則無復法律之拘束、雖再嫁亦不為失貞。

So then, if she has sexual relations with another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress if she marries another man.

But suppose that married woman sleeps with another man while her husband is still alive. Then she is called a woman who commits adultery. But suppose her husband dies. Then she is free from that law. She is not guilty of adultery if she marries another man.

Accordingly, she will be called an adulteress if she lives with another man while her husband is alive. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law, and if she marries another man she is not an adulteress.

So while her husband is alive, she would be committing adultery if she married another man. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law and does not commit adultery when she remarries.

So then, if she is married to another man while her husband is living, she will be called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law. Then, if she is married to another man, she is not an adulteress.

So then, if while her husband is alive she gives herself to another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from the law, so that she is not an adulteress if she gives herself to another man.

So then if, while her husband lives, she marries another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law, so that she is no adulteress, though she has married another man.

So then if, while the husband liveth, she be joined to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if the husband die, she is free from the law, so that she is no adulteress, though she be joined to another man.

So then, if she gives herself to another man while her husband is living, she will be called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law. Then, if she gives herself to another man, she is not an adulteress.

So then if, while[ her] husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

So then, if she is joined to another man while her husband is alive, she will be called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law, and if she is joined to another man, she is not an adulteress.

「不可姦淫。

但是我告訴你們：凡休妻的，除非是因不貞的緣故，否則就是使她犯姦淫了；人若娶被休的婦人，也是犯姦淫了。」

但從起初創造的時候，神造人是造男造女。因此，人要離開他的父母，與妻子結合，二人成為一體。既然如此，夫妻不再是兩個人，而是一體的了。所以，神配合的，人不可分開。」他們到了屋裏，門徒又問他這事。耶穌對他們說：「凡休妻另娶的，就是犯姦淫，辜負他的妻子；妻子若離棄丈夫另嫁，也是犯姦淫了。」

「若發現有人與有夫之婦同寢，就要將姦夫淫婦一起處死。這樣，你就把惡從以色列中除掉。「若一女子是處女，已經許配了人，有男子在城裏遇見她，與她同寢，你們就要把這二人帶到那城的城門口，用石頭打死他們。處死女子是因為她雖然在城裏，卻沒有喊叫；處死男子是因為他玷污了鄰舍的妻子。這樣，你就把惡從你中間除掉。

文士和法利賽人帶着一個犯姦淫時被捉的女人來，叫她站在當中，然後對耶穌說：「老師，這女人是正在犯姦淫的時候被捉到的。摩西在律法書上命令我們把這樣的女人用石頭打死。那麼，你怎麼說呢？」

大衛聽見拿八死了，就說：「耶和華是應當稱頌的，因為我從拿八手中受了羞辱，他為我伸冤，又阻止他的僕人行惡；耶和華使拿八的惡歸到他自己頭上。」於是大衛派人去向亞比該說，要娶她為妻。大衛的僕人來到迦密，到亞比該那裏，對她說：「大衛派我們到你這裏，要娶你作他的妻子。」亞比該起來叩拜，俯伏在地，說：「看哪，你的使女情願作婢女，為我主的僕人洗腳。」亞比該立刻起身，騎上驢，五個女僕跟着她走。她跟從大衛的使者去，就作了大衛的妻子。

路得說：「我主啊，願我在你眼前蒙恩。我雖然不及你的一個婢女，你還安慰我，對你的婢女說關心的話。」

有人與她同寢交合，這事瞞過她的丈夫，沒有被發現；她玷污自己，沒有證人指控她，也沒有被捉住；丈夫若生了疑忌的心，對妻子起了疑忌，認為她玷污自己；或是丈夫生了疑忌的心，對妻子起了疑忌，雖然她沒有玷污自己，這人要帶妻子到祭司那裏，同時為她帶十分之一伊法大麥麵粉作供物。不可澆上油，也不可加乳香，因為這是疑忌的素祭，是紀念的素祭，使人記得罪孽。「祭司要使那婦人近前來，站在耶和華面前。祭司要把聖水盛在瓦器裏，從帳幕的地上取些塵土，放在水中。祭司要帶那婦人站在耶和華面前，使她蓬頭散髮，再把紀念的素祭，就是疑忌的素祭，放在她的手掌，祭司手裏捧着致詛咒的苦水。祭司要叫婦人起誓，對她說：『若沒有人與你同寢，若你未曾背着丈夫做污穢的事，你就能免去這致詛咒的苦水。但你背着丈夫，玷污自己，跟丈夫以外的人同寢。』祭司叫婦人賭咒起誓，祭司對她說：『當耶和華使你大腿萎縮，肚腹腫脹時，願耶和華使你在你百姓中成為詛咒和咒罵；願這致詛咒的水進入你體內，使你肚腹腫脹，大腿萎縮。』婦人要說：『阿們，阿們。』「祭司要把這詛咒寫在冊上，然後用苦水塗去，又叫婦人喝這致詛咒的苦水，這詛咒的水要進入她裏面，令她痛苦。祭司要從婦人手中取那疑忌的素祭，把素祭在耶和華面前搖一搖，拿到祭壇前；又要從素祭中取出一把，作為紀念，燒在壇上，然後叫婦人喝這水。祭司叫她喝了以後，她若玷污自己，確實對丈夫不貞，這致詛咒的水必進入她裏面，令她痛苦，她的肚腹就要腫脹起來，大腿萎縮；這婦人就在她百姓中成為詛咒。這婦人若沒有玷污自己，是貞潔的，就要免受這災，並且能夠生育。「這是疑忌的條例。妻子背離丈夫玷污自己，或是丈夫生了疑忌的心，對妻子起了疑忌，祭司要使那婦人站在耶和華面前，在她身上照這條例而行。男人可免罪責；女人必須擔當自己的罪孽。」

至於年輕的寡婦，你要拒絕登記，因為她們情慾衝動、背棄基督的時候，就想嫁人，她們因廢棄了當初所許的願而被定罪。同時，她們又學了懶惰，習慣於挨家閒逛；不但懶惰，而且說長道短，好管閒事，說些不該說的話。所以，我希望年輕的寡婦嫁人，生養兒女，治理家務，不讓敵人有辱罵的把柄，

「凡與有夫之婦行姦淫，就是與鄰舍的妻子行姦淫的，姦夫淫婦必被處死。
