其夫存而改適者、是謂不貞。若夫既死、則無復法律之拘束、雖再嫁亦不為失貞。

So then, if she has sexual relations with another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress if she marries another man.

But suppose that married woman sleeps with another man while her husband is still alive. Then she is called a woman who commits adultery. But suppose her husband dies. Then she is free from that law. She is not guilty of adultery if she marries another man.

Accordingly, she will be called an adulteress if she lives with another man while her husband is alive. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law, and if she marries another man she is not an adulteress.

So while her husband is alive, she would be committing adultery if she married another man. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law and does not commit adultery when she remarries.

So then, if she is married to another man while her husband is living, she will be called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law. Then, if she is married to another man, she is not an adulteress.

So then, if while her husband is alive she gives herself to another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from the law, so that she is not an adulteress if she gives herself to another man.

So then if, while her husband lives, she marries another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law, so that she is no adulteress, though she has married another man.

So then if, while the husband liveth, she be joined to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if the husband die, she is free from the law, so that she is no adulteress, though she be joined to another man.

So then, if she gives herself to another man while her husband is living, she will be called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law. Then, if she gives herself to another man, she is not an adulteress.

So then if, while[ her] husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

So then, if she is joined to another man while her husband is alive, she will be called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law, and if she is joined to another man, she is not an adulteress.

“不可姦淫。

可是我告訴你們，凡休妻的，如果不是因她不貞，就是促使她犯姦淫；無論誰娶了被休的婦人，也就是犯姦淫了。

但從起初創造的時候，神是‘造男造女’。‘因此人要離開父母，與妻子連合，二人成為一體了。’這樣，他們不再是兩個人，而是一體的了。所以神所配合的，人不可分開。”回到屋子裡，門徒再提起這件事來問他。他對他們說：“誰休妻另娶，誰就是犯姦淫，得罪了妻子。如果妻子棄夫另嫁，也是犯了姦淫。”

“如果發現有人和有夫之婦同寢，就要把姦夫淫婦二人都處死；這樣，你就把那惡從以色列中除掉了。“如果有個少女，本來是處女，已經許配了人，有人在城裡遇見了她，和她同寢，你們就要把他們二人帶到當地的城門口，用石頭打死他們。那少女該死，是因為她雖在城裡，卻沒有呼叫；那男人該死，是因為他玷污了鄰舍的妻子；這樣，你就把那惡從你們中間除掉。

經學家和法利賽人帶了一個行淫時被抓到的婦人來，叫她站在中間，就對耶穌說：“先生，這婦人是正在犯姦淫的時候被抓到的。摩西在律法上吩咐我們把這樣的婦人用石頭打死，你怎樣說呢？”

大衛聽見拿八死了，就說：“耶和華是應當稱頌的，因為他為我伸了拿八羞辱我的冤，又阻止了僕人行惡，也使拿八的惡歸到他自己的頭上。”於是大衛派人去對亞比該說要娶她作他的妻子。大衛的僕人到了迦密去見亞比該，對她說：“大衛差派我們到你這裡來，要娶你作他的妻子。”亞比該就起來，面伏於地叩拜，說：“婢女願意作女僕，洗我主人的腳！”亞比該急忙起來，騎上驢，帶著五個跟隨她的女僕，跟從大衛的使者去了，就作了大衛的妻子。

路得說：“主人啊，但願我在你眼前蒙恩，雖然我連你的婢女都不是，你還是安慰我，對我這麼好。”

有人和她同寢，事情瞞過了丈夫，沒有被查出，沒有見證人指證她，犯罪時也沒有被人捉住；如果她的丈夫生了疑心，疑忌妻子，而妻子實在是被玷污了；又或者丈夫生了疑心，疑忌妻子，而妻子並沒有被玷污，這人就要把妻子帶到祭司那裡，又要為她帶來供物，就是大麥麵一公斤，不可澆上油，也不可加上乳香，因為這是疑忌的素祭，是思念的素祭，使人思念罪孽。“祭司要使那婦人走進來，站在耶和華面前。祭司要把聖水盛在瓦器裡，又從帳幕的地面取些塵土，撒在水中。祭司要使那婦人站在耶和華面前，鬆開她的頭髮，把思念的素祭，就是疑忌的素祭，放在她的手中，祭司的手裡要拿著使人招致咒詛的苦水。祭司要叫那婦人起誓，對她說：‘如果沒有人與你同寢，作妻子時沒有背棄丈夫被人玷污，你就免受這使人招致咒詛的苦水。但是，如果你作妻子時背棄了丈夫，被人玷污了；如果你在你的丈夫以外，曾與別的男人同寢’，這樣，祭司就要叫那婦人發咒起誓，繼續對她說：‘耶和華要使你的大腿消瘦，肚腹腫脹；願耶和華叫你在你的族人中成為咒詛和起誓的話柄；願這招致咒詛的水進入你的腹中，使你的肚腹腫脹，大腿消瘦。’那婦人要說：‘阿們、阿們。’“祭司要把這些咒詛的話寫在卷上，又把所寫的字洗在苦水裡，又要叫那婦人喝這招致咒詛的苦水，這招致咒詛的水要進入她裡面，就引起痛苦。祭司要從這婦人的手中取過那疑忌的素祭，把素祭在耶和華面前搖一搖，然後帶到祭壇那裡。祭司要從素祭中取出一把來，作為記念，放在祭壇上焚燒，然後才叫婦人喝這水。祭司叫她喝了這水以後，如果她被人玷污，對自己的丈夫不忠，這招致咒詛的水就必進入她裡面，引起痛苦；她的肚腹必腫脹，大腿必消瘦；那婦人就要在她的族人中成為咒詛。但是，如果這婦人沒有被玷污，而是貞潔的，就不致受害，並且要懷孕生子。“這是關於疑忌的律例：妻子在自己丈夫的權下，如果背離丈夫，被人玷污了；或是人生了疑忌的心，疑忌自己的妻子，他就要叫那婦人站在耶和華的面前，祭司要對她執行這法例。這樣，男人可以免罪，婦人就要擔當自己的罪孽。”

至於年輕的寡婦，不要給她們登記，因為她們一旦情慾衝動而背棄基督的時候，就想結婚。她們被定罪，是因為丟棄了起初的信誓。同時，她們懶惰慣了，挨家閒遊；不但懶惰，而且好說閒話，好管閒事，說不該說的話。因此，我願年輕的寡婦結婚，生兒育女，管理家務，不給敵人有辱罵的機會；

“如果有人與別人的妻子通姦，就是與鄰舍的妻子通姦，姦夫和淫婦都要處死。
