I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good.

So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me.

But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him.And the Lord said to Satan,“ The Lord rebuke you, Satan! Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.

Direct my steps by Your word, And let no iniquity have dominion over me.

Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,

Iniquities prevail against me; As for our transgressions, You will provide atonement for them.
