So I discover this law: When I want to do what is good, evil is present with me.

So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me.

I have discovered this principle of life— that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong.

I find then the principle that evil is present in me, the one who wants to do good.

I find then the law, that, to me who would do good, evil is present.

So I discover this principle: When I want to do what is good, evil is with me.

but I see a different law in the parts of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and taking me prisoner to the law of sin in the parts of my body.

For sin will not rule over you, because you are not under the law but under grace.

Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the schemes of the devil.For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against evil, spiritual forces in the heavens.For this reason take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand.

Then he showed me the high priest Joshua standing before the angel of the LORD, with Satan standing at his right side to accuse him.The LORD said to Satan,“ The LORD rebuke you, Satan! Then Jesus left the Jordan, full of the Holy Spirit, and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness

Iniquities overwhelm me; only you can atone for our rebellions.
