As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me.

行之者非我、乃居於我中之罪、

然此實非吾之所為、乃寓於吾身之罪之所為也。

As it is, I am no longer the one who does these things. It is sin living in me that does them.

So now it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me.

So I am not the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it.

So now I am no longer the one doing it, but it is sin living in me.

But now, no longer am I the one doing it, but sin that dwells in me.

But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.

So now it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwelleth in me.

Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.

For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.

What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christand be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ— the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith.

Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us?But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says:“ God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”

“ Blessed are those whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord will never count against them.”

For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.

but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me.
