我們知道，我們的舊人和他同釘十字架，使罪身滅絕，叫我們不再作罪的奴隸，

蓋自知吾故態、與之釘死、滅厥罪狀、使我不復為罪所役、

蓋知我儕舊日之我、舊日之我原文作本體之舊人與之同釘十字架、以滅罪身、使我儕不復為罪所役、

應知吾人之故我、已與之同釘於十字架上；於是罪孽之身、已蕩然毀滅、而吾人不復為罪孽之奴矣。

For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin—

We know that what we used to be was nailed to the cross with him. That happened so our bodies that were ruled by sin would lose their power. So we are no longer slaves of sin.

現在活着的不再是我，乃是基督在我裏面活着；並且我如今在肉身活着，是因信神的兒子而活；他是愛我，為我捨己。

但我絕不以別的誇口，只誇我們主耶穌基督的十字架；因這十字架，就我而論，世界已經釘在十字架上；就世界而論，我已經釘在十字架上。

凡屬基督耶穌的人，是已經把肉體與肉體的邪情私慾同釘在十字架上了。

你們要脫去從前的行為，脫去舊我；這舊我是因私慾的迷惑而漸漸敗壞的。

耶穌回答他們：「我實實在在地告訴你們，所有犯罪的人就是罪的奴隸。奴隸不能永遠住在家裏；兒子才永遠住在家裏。所以，神的兒子若使你們自由，你們就真正自由了。」

所以，要治死你們在地上的肢體；就如淫亂、污穢、邪情、惡慾和貪婪－貪婪就是拜偶像。

不要彼此說謊，因為你們已經脫去舊人和舊人的行為，穿上了新人，這新人照着造他的主的形像在知識上不斷地更新。

你們若順從肉體活着，必定會死；若靠着聖靈把身體的惡行處死，就必存活。

但如今，你們既從罪裏得了釋放，作了神的奴僕，就結出果子，以至於成聖，那結局就是永生。

我真苦啊！誰能救我脫離這必死的身體呢？感謝神，靠着我們的主耶穌基督就能！這樣看來，一方面，我內心順服神的律，另一方面，肉體卻順服罪的律了。

你們也在他裏面受了不是人手所行的割禮，而是使你們脫去肉體情慾的基督的割禮。你們既受洗與他一同埋葬，也就在此禮上，因信那使他從死人中復活的神的作為跟他一同復活。

律法既因肉體軟弱而無能為力，神就差遣自己的兒子成為罪身的樣子，為了對付罪，在肉體中定了罪，為要使律法要求的義，實現在我們這不隨從肉體、只隨從聖靈去行的人身上。

耶和華－我們的神啊，在你以外曾有別的主管轄我們，但我們惟獨稱揚你的名。

所以，不要讓罪在你們必死的身上掌權，使你們順從身體的私慾。

乃縵說：「你若不肯，請把兩匹騾子能馱的土賜給僕人，僕人必不再把燔祭或祭物獻給別神，只獻給耶和華。
